My son was diagnosed with a shrimp allergy a few years ago and he has been regularly tested ever since. On his last checkup the doctor told us that there was a 95% chance that he no longer has the allergy.

Yesterday we went for an oral test which involved him eating increasingly larger portions of shrimp over the course of an hour to test for a reaction. We were there for 2 hours and he didn't have any reaction, so he can not only eat shrimp again, but all shellfish!

We had a little shrimpfest last night to celebrate, and among other dishes we had bacon-wrapped scallops. He now has a new favorite food.
