News Stranger Things - Season 5

Still no season 5 trailer or even release date(s) but Netflix announced today that they'll be releasing a documentary on the production of The First Shadow on April 15:

As excited as I am for this release, as I always am for behind-the-scenes documentaries, I'm still hoping we'll get a full recording of The First Shadow itself at some point. As a theater person I would love to see it in person, but that's not feasible for time and financial reasons. I really hope Netflix gives all of us, who are fans of the show and who aren't able to see this stage production on the West End or on Broadway, the opportunity to enjoy it. And not just so we know the full story of Henry Creel (which I imagine will be covered in parts in season 5).

Yeah, this does look pretty interesting. I'm thinking this has to be one of the most technically complicated plays ever.

Finn Wolfhard was on Colbert last night to talk about his directorial debut with Hell of a Summer:

The bulk of the episode was about the film but they did talk about Stranger Things for a couple of minutes, including about how the show filmed for a year in Atlanta for the final season. I don't think we knew this before but Colbert casually mentioned the final season will be out this autumn. I was hoping for late summer but I'll take autumn.

We watched this last night and it was very interesting. They had a long process of workshopping and rewrites and technical rehearsals. An insane amount of work was put into it. I hope we get to see it someday too.

Have they announced yet when it's coming to Broadway? Or when they're going to do a touring version?

Would be great if they release it on Halloween.

Per Wikipedia:
In August 2024, it was announced that the show would transfer to Broadway in Spring 2025. Previews are expected to begin at the Marquis Theatre on March 28, 2025. The play's official opening date is scheduled for April 22, 2025.

Stranger Things Animated Series Unveils Official Title
Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 is set in the Stranger Things universe.

Your Saturday morning cartoons are getting turned upside down.

The Stranger Things animated series, currently in the works at Netflix, now has a title: Stranger Things: Tales From ’85.

“We’ve always dreamed of an animated Stranger Things in the vein of the Saturday morning cartoons that we grew up loving, and to see this dream realized has been absolutely thrilling,” Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer tell Tudum
The Duffers are executive producing the new project via their Upside Down Pictures production banner, along with Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen via 21 Laps and Eric Robles via Flying Bark Productions. “We couldn’t be more blown away by what Eric Robles and his team have come up with –– the scripts and artwork are incredible, and we can’t wait to share more with you! The adventure continues …”

Shamefully, I had forgotten about the animated series but I'm still super excited for it. I'm glad we finally have a title for it but still very little else.
