Stategic Designs Web Site?

Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere but as I've searched and couldn't find anything I was wondering if there was any news on what happened to this website? For a while there was a message on there site that said they were having some problems, but now there's an Out of Service message.

Update: February 20th, 2011 --- Before getting into the latest updates, I want to discuss the recent closing of Strategic Designs; the company and creative force behind some of the most detailed Star Trek blueprints ever produced. I've worked closely with the orignial artist and company owner of SD ever since they began selling blueprints back in 2006. I was happy to help spread the word about their work by displaying samples of their blueprints on my site. Without question, they were always met with excitement and enthusiasm throughout the Trek community. While I won't get into the details surrounding SD's demise, I will be considering opening up all of the SD blueprints available on this site for full viewing. Out of respect for the originators of SD, I want to ensure that they will be okay with this approach. I know a lot of you think that, simply because SD is no longer in existence, their blueprints are fair game and I should display all of them in full resolution. I can appreciate that opinion, however I want to do this "by the book".

Accordingly, for now, all SD blueprints will remain untouched - though I will begin to remove all link-backs to the former SD website to avoid any further confusion. Further, I was able to purchase two more SD blueprint sets which I will be uploading over the next week.

So I take it this is all the information we have just now? I do realise that the owner would be busy a lot and not have time to keep us updated but I just thought that because the he was a regular here, or at least was for a while, there'd be an announcement made about the site?

Speaking as one of many satisfied customers of their product line - owning four sets of plans so far - I was taken by surprise as much as anyone. More so, considering I was making up my mind which set of deck plans was going to be Purchase # 5.

Was looking forward to making that purchase, whatever I ended up buying...

I'm the Tim Palgut that visitors to the Strategic Design site may recognize if they looked at the "About" page as the designer/researcher/proofer/quality control, website updater etc.
From 2001 until 2009 I collaborated with David Schmidt on creating the deck plans that we ended up selling on the website.
I've been putting off coming onto a forum such as this or the Cygnus X-1 site and making any kind of announcement because I was waiting on legal advice.

The site closed due to business reasons beyond my control, and I am no longer in business nor contact with Dave Schmidt.

Thanks for the update, and good luck going forward; I hope we'll see your work available once again, and more.

In the meantime, folks, let's keep speculation as to the circumstances under control - you've heard it straight from The Man, and there's no reason to go off on flights of fancy that he probably isn't at liberty to discuss.

Hi Tim,
After a few days of research, trying to find the Strategic Design deck plans, I found these posts in trekbbs.com and now know who you are - a founder of that company. I was lucky to get the VOYAGER deck plans before the website was shut down, and only discovered (via cygnus x-1) the many other deck plans available, especially the NCC-1701A.
This post led me to the Cydonia 6 link thru your homepage, but the site is still building? Will you be able to sell the same plans as you were doing with Strategic Design? More? New ones?
I also placed this note in another discussion thread, but I suspect you'd see it in either place - just making sure.
