News Star Trek: Voyager Documentary Filming Soon

There's definitely enough drama between the actors to make it interesting. Beltran can go off about the writing. Wang can go off about Berman. And we all know about Mulgrew getting pissed when Jeri was brought on.

Although I think DS9 is the better series, I'm more likely to contribute to a VOY doc
Whatever I think of Voyager, I would like to see the crowdfunding campaign be a big success. I would like Voyager fans to show more enthusiasm.

I'm far from the biggest VOY fan but so long as they offer a Blu-ray copy for a not-outrageous amount, I'll be happy to donate. :)

While I hope the campaign is a success, a small (horribly selfish) part of me hopes that it isn't as successful as the DS9 one.

Blu-rays should be made just for the long term return on DS9 and VOY. The money they spend on one episode of STD would take care of all the new Post Production for those shows.

Probably both difficult and unnecessary. From what I have understood from both Dave Zappone and Joe Kornbrodt, 455 was greatly able to expand its production capacity on the back of the DS9 crowdfunding campaign, not to mention some goodwill with Paramount with regard to getting film scans. On the other hand, I haven't seen or heard anything that makes me think that potential funders will feel it is special. Garret Wang is the face of the enterprise, but does that also mean he is the creative force from the series who is also shaping the documentary? What feature will make it more than talking heads? In a recent podcast, it was reported that the person whom I would have expected to be forthcoming with ideas, Brannon Braga, seems to have only contributed interviews, charging Zappone with coming up with something. The motivating force behind the documentary seems to be that it's the 25th anniversary.

That may be enough, but I hope that someone from Voyager, or at least someone who worked on Trek during the era, will use the opportunity to take a big picture look at the series and find definitive meaning for the series. Doing the same for Voyager that was done for DS9 doesn't seem like much motivation.

(In short, Voyager fans, show more enthusiasm.)

That post was downright rude and insulting!
