I understand why you didn't like THE GIFT if you're such an avid Kes fan.
As for me, like I stated in an earlier post, although it is a heartwrenching episode, at least it was done very tastefully: they didn't kill her off but gave her a lovely exit. I have a lot of wallpapers for that episode, I'm soon going to start publishing them here. (I like the idea of Seven and Kes together in the same wallpaper hence the many wallpapers for that ep.)

So what are some of your (non Kes-centered) fav episodes? I basically love them all, Scorpion being my favourite one. Deadlock would be a close second. But then, there are so many I like it'd be difficult to name them all.

Now here's an episode that made me cry ...
And as far as I know I was not the only one. Both Robert Duncan McNeill and Roxann Dawson are supposed to have burst into tears more than once while this ep was being shot.
And who can blame them? It's such a heartwrenching story ... I hope you'll like this wallpaper:

No, I don't like heartwrenching goodbye episodes and I don't Like "The Gift".

A badly written episode written only for the purpose of getting rid of Kes as soon as possible.

I've watched seasons 4-6 (up to a certain episode) and "Endgame" once and that was when they were aired..
Some rather good episodes, like "Nemesis" (which I really like, probably no 21 on my list), the Equinox episodes and "Blink Of An Eye". But I'm not to fond of those seasons. Something important is missing.

In recent years, I've started to consider buying those seasons on DVD and watch them again (except for that one insulting episode which I will never ever watch again) but first I have to sort out the problems I have with malfunctioning DS9 and TNG DVD:s of low quality which Paramount are shipping to Europe.

"Deadlock" is OK but there are episodes I like better.

I like "Before And After" but it's a little too weird to end up among my absolute favorites.

"Persistence Of Vision" is excellent!

It's interesting that you don't like the later seasons. Most people would say they are better than the first three.
As for me, I find Voyager to be of excellent quality from CARETAKER to ENDGAME.

Did you ever see Season 7? That's one of my fav seasons. Tom and B'Elanna simply shine in that season!

See, in my country, you can't even buy VOYAGER. It simply has never been released on DVD here. Thankfully, people have recorded the episodes from various TV channels so this is how we have access to them.

Anyway, what's weird about BEFORE AND AFTER?

The weirdest thing to me about Before and After is the whole 'Harry married Tom's daughter'. If they had just kept to the idea that in an alternate future Tom married Kes after B'Elanna's death and they had a daughter that might not have been so bad but to quote the reviewer on Sci Fi Debris "That's just a whole bunch of weird!"

(This episode also reminds me that Tom had 'children' with three out of the four leading ladies on Voyager. Ok...so three were lizards and one was in an alternate timeline but still... a bit...odd)

I don't think there's anything weird about it - but of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Actually, this kind of thing added to the beauty of the episode for me. In real life I guess I'd be more than pleased to know that my daughter is in good hands if my best friend married her.
I'm just guessing of course, being a gay man ...
