Star Trek Toys and Diamond Select Toys

Hello: does anyone know if Diamond Select Toys has formally discontinued making Star Trek Toys ?

they have removed their Star Trek listing from their website and it seems like they aren't making anymore Star Trek related toys ?

if so, that's sad... liked their ships and role playing toys (albeit long delays)

thanks

I collected a lot of DST stuff. They were apparently working on a TNG Phaser and the USS Reliant. But, I think they are done.

How about a TL; DW? I have a bunch of the stuff myself. I love my props.

TL;DW:
Do they have a license still? - Yes
Enterprise C? Yes, still working on\
Reliant? No timeline, after the C
Phasers/props? Backburner
Action figures- done for now, but "never say never"

Once they do the C, I think I'll be done with DST as well.

Art Asylum / Diamond Select props are awesome. I've been waiting for the C and Reliant. It's been too long of a wait. I wish they would do a ST V / VI phaser, ST III communicator and tricorder. I think Lincoln Enterprises sold the ST III props in the '80's but haven't seen them come up anywhere. The Diamond Select TWOK communicator goes for a lot on eBay when it does show up.

Does anyone make a good but not too expensive Discovery phaser prop? I'm not so sure if the resin or 3D printed versions out there are as good of quality as what Diamond Select has made?

Having both resin and 3D props as well as the DS props, they are not. Resin is solid, heavy, and fragile.(I work with it too). 3D has it's own issues depending on the medium and the printer.

Oh no. I was looking for a model and it’s sad to see the website discontinued now for products. :(

That feature was one of the few things they carried over from 'The Cage'.

It is. I have a "The Cage" laser gun on my collection. Multi emitters like a old movie camera lens, and you rotate it to put one in play. The same prop is also seen in civilian hands in "The Man Trap" and "What are Little Girls Made Of".

The DIC phaser looks like the love child between the Cage prop and the TOS phaser. Way better than the weird thing they used in the JJVerse.

They did seem to taper off. I wish they still did. They were made so well, with obvious passion and love for each item.

I'm a Star Trek prop whore....but there's absolutely nothing about the Kelvin Films props or set design that I like.

And I say that as a fan of those films. But, the design elements just completely turn me off for some reason. I bought a Kelvin Phaser when the toys first came out. It was really "meh" so it ended up with my kids so they could use it as a zap gun in the yard.
