Star Trek tattoos

I would not get one, most likely, but in seventh grade I had my english teacher had a the Cardie/Klingon alliance symbol from the Mirror Universe on his arm. He gave me extra credit because I knew what it was (and to have me not tell anyone else what it was!)

^ get it. you only live once. :)

Do you really think so?? Please advise......
Try to remember that I'm going to be 47 this year.

Well it's not like you're going to have to live with it long...

J/K! I :) personally believe in not having any identifying characteristics, but a tattoo isn't really much of a social stigma these days as long as you avoid the head...

I'd love to see someone get a tattoo of DS9 around their waist like a belt.

That would be so awesome... and incredibly painful! :scream: Maybe a wrist?

I've always wanted a tattoo, but I haven't decided on one yet. Personally, I think if someone got a Trek tattoo, I would think they probably got something that was very meaningful to them. And those make the best tatts.

I want to get a programmable tattoo ... so when I get bored with the Starfleet emblem, I can change it to the Klingon Imperial Trefoil. Or the Borg Collective emblem like John1701D said. Or the current time and date.

Yeah, that would really freak people out. Especially if the colon flashed.

I'll come clean that I do have one, the communicator insignia that started w/ Generations and ended with Nemesis on my right arm just below the shoulder. Just liked the design and thought it would be different. Little did I know how much shit I would get from people about it and how stupid or cool it was. I really could care less if anyone likes it or not, had it for 13 years now and may get it still looks pretty good.

007 style!

or if you're Spock (or Trip).

Keith1701, is there any way you can get it painted on first and check out the reactions to it (including your own)? if you can, stay with that for a while. if it feels good, and you and your family etc are comfortable with it, then get the real thing.

PS. 47 is not old! please don't give in to the worship of youth in the world today. age is very relative, you know. we're all as young and as old as we feel. old (or older) age, typically, should be a freeing thing. the older we get, the freer we should feel to live our lives as we wish. down with the shackles of societal bounds, I say! :)

I got the Enterprise E superimposed on top of the Federation's Delta symbol with the words "Boldly Go" above it on my left forearm. It is about 10 inches long. I got it back in 2001.

Id like to get a tat later in life, but as im a pro bodybuilder, walking out on stange with the enterprsie plastered all over me wouldnt be the best career choice. heehee. Plus im way to indecisive to get one until im totally sure what i want. But for people that want one, go for it. Theres nothing wrong with expressing yourself. Myself id go for something tribal looking i think - cardie etc ---if I was to get something trek.

I do have a tattoo, but its not related to Trek. Thought about it though and if I did, I've always liked this image:

That was actually the first thing that came to my mind. I saw one in a magazine once and liked it.

The best thing about that one is, only another Trek geek would recognize it for what it is. To anyone else it would just look like a tribal design..... Best of both worlds...

I was just thinking about that the other day. I think the Romulan symbol (the bird-looking one) could make a pretty nice tattoo if it was done properly!
