Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Confirmed.

Will they have paper printers on the bridge to print received messages? Will Pike make any comments about females on the bridge?

Anyway, during the first two seasons, DSC would've been stuck in a Catch-22 as a prequel:

"We want new enemies!"
Alex Kurtzman gives them new enemies...
"Why didn't we hear about them in TOS or the other series?!"

All those problems that DSC has left behind with the time-jump will be inherited by SNW.

I think generally in any show/movie prequels should be avoided unless it's in a part of the universe or story that is well away from the original.

Hopefully the time jump will free DIS to be it's its own thing a bit more but I'll warn you in advance I could very easily become a " no FED is too dark for Trek" person

We'll be on the same page then. That suits my mood in 2020.

In the late-2000s and early-2010s, I would've been more receptive to Strange New Worlds, but that's unfortunately not where I am these days. Which will be more of a reflection on me than the series itself. I'm sure I'll like the episodes for what they are in and of themselves, but SNW will be filling a niche in the fandom that isn't mine.

What is the mood of SNW expected to be? More light old Trek or dark stuff

I think light. I'm pretty sure they want SNW to zig where DSC and PIC zag. That would make it stand out from the other two series.

Works well for me. I like to have something easy to watch goin to bed after an hour or 2 of of serious TV. Pike is a good lead for that kinda show too

Will Pike make any comments about females on the bridge?
Pike: "Thank you, yeoman, that'll be all."
Number One: "Problem, Captain?"
Pike: "I just can't get used to women on my bridge, aside from you, Number One. You're different."
Lt. Mann: "Does my name confuse the Captain about my gender?"
