Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

I really wanted them to make the TOS era ships from Agent of Yesteryears.

Those I would have actually bought.

They are lovely. I have the Pioneer (NCC-1500) and Gemini (NCC-1800) as GamePrint models. Problem is storage, as the material deforms overtime. In a nod to Eaglemoss, I named the Gemini the USS Bonaventure NCC-1000.

Other obvious contents would've been STO's SS Kobayashi Maru ECS-1022, and Captain Tom Paris' ship, the USS Mercury NCC-47802. Plus maybe the 25th century USS Glenn, to tie over between the 23rd century Crossfield and its 32nd century refit?

The ships deform? That hasn’t happened to mine yet, thankfully. Shit that’s a lot of money wasted if they start going all bendy on people. Glad I didn’t get the biggest version available.

The nacelles on my DSC Connie started bending the moment I got it and it's a 5 inch. But I think it's because of the pylons being so small.

So right now I just have it sitting upside down until I can find a stand that can hold it in place.

Wow... Hmmm. Maybe hit it with a hair dryer on hot to soften it up some to get it bent back into shape. Dunking it into a hot bucket of formerly-boiling water works as well, too. I use both these tricks to straighten out garage kit parts.

1. One some models, contact with liquid might lead to the model dissolving.
2. The material itself is soft. I rather led gravity do the work instead of firing a hair dryer at the models every so often.

Hero Collector's Galaxy Quest: The Inside Story is out.
Ben retweeted the link to this interview: https://scifibulletin.com/books/tie...t-interview-matt-mcallister-the-inside-story/

The book is out on the UK already, and I hope its production indicates that the potential Galaxy Quest ship model is still coming.

According to Memory Alpha, new upcoming issues have been confirmed:

Bonus Edition 30: Benthan coaxial warp-drive prototype (VOY). Link: https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Steth's_ship

XL Edition 29: USS Discovery NCC-1031-A. Depending on when it comes out, this might be the first Eaglemoss-published model representing a ship with intentionally detached components.

XL Edition 30: TNG-era Borg cube. Questions: Is it a Japanese Borg cube or a new mold? How does it's size compare to the light-up subscriber special?

While I'm not that interested in yet another "alien ship of the week" from "Voyager" per se, this does, however. give me hope that we may yet see a few more standard-sized ships from the Berman era that didn't make it into the main series (I think I've mentioned a few times the half dozen ships that I was hoping for).

As for the XL Borg cube, even in the larger size, creating something with that much texture at that price point would be tricky, assuming they actually are going for the "Best of Both Worlds" version. I'd be impressed if they pulled it off.

The Inquiry-class USS Toussaint (alternate nacelle configuration) Subscriber Gift is scheduled for the sixth ST Universe sub. Meaning it’s due when Narek’s snakehead is shipped, right?

Edit: added sub gift.

What do you mean? Ive just got the Romulan ship and they’ve been pretty regular so far. That means I’ll get that one in two months.

Sorry, I forgot to clarify.
The USS Toussaint is the sub gift that comes with the 6th delivery.

News:
Tim Pollard posted on Facebook that the Space 1999: Eagle has landed! Tim notes it’s is smaller than the Sixteen12-made Eagle. Can’t link the post as I’m failing to copy it on my device.

The next Star Trek Universe ship is the DIS section 31 Deimos-class. I'm really surprised that they aren't finishing the PIC season 1 ships first...

Does anyone know if anywhere sells replacement Eaglemoss stands?

I bought the gold edition Enterprise-D XL a few months ago from Eaglemoss but I think it came with the wrong stand, as the hole is in the centre rather than at back, so it is easy to tip over due to being front-heavy. They sent replacements but all had the same stand with the hole in the centre so I just kept it and tried to make it work, but it's a bit precarious. I've been looking at second hand XL ships on ebay with the correct base so I can swap it - is that the only way to obtain a stand?

;);)USS Armstrong NCC-1769 delivered!

The packaging style/design matches that of the STO collection.
The magazine does not have a preview page of next ships (just the standard picture of existing main collection ships).

Coming Soon... on the box:
top row: USS Valiant (NCC-6089) - Kazon Cruiser (Kazon mothership!) - USS Newton (NCC-1727)
bottoms: Talarian Observation Craft (Jono's ship) - Nomad (post Tan-Ru merger) - Steth's ship (Benthan coaxial drive prototype)

I really really like having the Armstrong and it being regular size. The design also cries out to be modded. Remove the central nacelle (the aft nacelle? ) and you have a Kelvin Reliant. And I’ve seen Saladin-class concept art where it looked like the Armstrong except minus the outer nacelles.

Looking forward to that. I wonder if the magazine will explain the apparent mix-up that led to a different version of Galactica being used in the closing scenes of B&C (though I'm glad with the version that was more prominently shown in the movie, which I preferred).

I've got the Armstrong. Wow the magazines got tiny since I bought an issue. And the sHIp siZE Is STiLL wroNG:rolleyes:

The model itself is awesome I love it.
They'll stick to it forever now! Armstrong (and presumably its cousin ships) will join the USS Prometheus in the "tiny huge starship club". :rommie:

It bugs me, but it's official now. The published mag covers show the Mayflower at 236 meters and Newton at 315.

On a wishful-thinking now, I'd love it Eaglemoss made the black and red color variants depicted in the mag. After all, Starfleet ships sell well, don't they? That would also help get enough material for a Star Trek: Shipyards - The Kelvin Timeline book.

It's doubly annoying because they have the size comparison chart in the mag, showing the relative sizes of the ships.
I'm really comfortable with the Enterprise of the Kelvin timeline being over 700 meters long. Whereas Bernd Schneider settled on 366 meters in his EAS article. Thus redefining the rest of fleet's size.

This would make the Armstrong just over 700 meters long.
