So, the "Torchbearer..."

Looks like a medieval Klingon.
It looks like an advanced, but ceremonial bio-mechanical suit, hardly medieval. I think they've nixed the idea that these are ancient Klingons, they're different houses, although the houses themselves may have a long, ancient history.

I dig the idea that a Klingon spacesuit really would just be armor when you get down to it. The overlaid plates give it a ribbed, organic look, like armadillo armor.

I'm guessing this is not a standard Klingon EVA suit. It's either for ceremonial combat or just a combat suit.

It could be...so??
Because while it's nice...

Well no that's a lie, it would be nice if you removed the boobguards and codpiece.

So it's almost nice, what it's not however is Klingon.

The color pallet is missing a primary, and it has a spider motif that is completely non-existent in any other Klingon design philosophy.

Looks fierce and very Klingon to me. What I find interesting about the name “Torchbearer” is that T'Kuvma is holding a torch in that still released a few days ago. So I guess it's him in that suit?

Canon timeline.
So? This is both a look and something TOS never explored. Heck no trek ever explored any of this. The Empire is just that, an empire with many species and many styles. The Klingon race in Canon is known to have had at lest one other offshoot race. Nothing we see here touches canon, it simply changes and updates the look of a race that has been changed like 12 times

It looks like a metal-colored suit of armor with a codpiece. It reminds me of Henry VIII's plate armor (granted he is not exactly from the medieval period).

I'm not saying they are actually ancient Klingons, as has been speculated, but this was my first impression.

It is full armor, as it is EVA armor. But you do not get the organic lines with the armor you posted, but it is indeed full armor.

And as long as you're right and they aren't actually Klingons CBS All Access will get my money.

Otherwise Yo-Ho-Yo-Ho it's a pirates life for me.

But they are Klingons. What you are seeing can easily be explained by ethnicity, Inner breeding and cross breeding with subjected races. Klingons are the most changed races in sci-fi history, so this is no biggy

Well it's their choice to go with the bad designs.

Just like it will be my and thousands if not tens of thousands of others choice not to give them our money.

I find this a fantastic design and after hearing more of the klingons, I am digging the concept of major houses each having their own look, as in our own history this was often the case with major Noble families.

Well yes it's their choice, and million of viewers will fill the void by a few thousands who are so narrow-minded that can't free themselves of the slavish, religious fervor of the past.

But you're a newbie espousing the dreary opinion of others I've seen on social media, and so tiresome and irrelevant that you wore out your welcome in record time. Bye bye

Not even really sure there is a "codpiece" but inevitably when a history of mecha or US Military videos cover exoskeleton development or "Iron Man" style DARPA suits, the intro mentions medieval armor as a precursor, so in that sense, sure medieval armor is related.

The Torchbearer suits owes a lot more to H R Giger to me than Henry's plate armor.
