So the actual CBS name for the JJverse/NuTrek is...

Abrams is gone and there's nothing "nu" about it anymore. Good a name as any I guess.
JJ Abrams production company 'Bad Robot' was just as involved as in the previous two films, and JJ Abrams was still an Executive Producer (the same title Gene Roddenberry held on TOS). He didn't personally direct this outing, but he's far from 'gone' production wise.

Same person had another excuse which is that CBS has no say in it because it is under Paramount.

Which has already been debunked by other commenters on the talk page -- CBS still owns the copyright on all Star Trek content and controls all its licensing, and CBS has already licensed Kelvin Timeline content to the games and comics (and the YA novels).

Yeah, M-A policy is weird. They don't list 2245 as the launch date for the Prime Enterprise because it wasn't on screen, though was intended to via an unused history screen for 'In a Mirror Darkly', and I think Gene said something about it?

Heck even startrek.com lists 2245 as the launch date.
