SiAP: Prodigy in top 10 for Netflix Kid shows

Maybe. But SNW's episodic nature was actually established at the request of msny fans, who appreciated that aspect of Old Trek. It's a classic example of the showrunners actually giving the audience what they wanted.
Yes, allthough I think the desire of (a significant part of) the audience was also a result of the other serialised shows not really being succesful with their forms of serialisation. It's fine to have a largely episodic show for those who want that, of course.

I prefer more of a mix, or what Prodigy is doing (leaning to almost full serialisation, in the latter case).

SNW has that too.

There are through lines, well, all the way through.

It's quite well done, or at least above average in general. But, the characters hook further, deeper, feel more real at times than most of the other shows, aside from Discovery. Prodigy does great, but some of the characters lack that depth. Which is fine, but the serial story won't carry me without that character.

I’m unsure if I’m understanding this discussion correctly, are people wishing that all Trek shows be either serialized or episodic? I guess the idea of desiring homogeneity baffles me. One of the delights, in my personal opinion, of having so many Trek shows available is that if you want episodic, you can watch something episodic. If you want serialized, you can watch something serialized. If you want to bounce between the types, you definitely can do that too. It’s a virtual buffet of storytelling styles!

Prodigy does great, but some of the characters lack that depth. Which is fine, but the serial story won't carry me without that character.

The only main character I find to be lacking in depth is Murf and I chalk that up to my own biases in preferring characters who speak in a way that I can comprehend. I was slowest to warm to Jankom who I remained rather ambivalent toward until we got his backstory in Preludes which just broke my heart.
(Also I can dream that maybe, possibly, in a comic book or something, he could have crossed paths with someone on the NX-01 before boarding the sleeper ship. It’s possible! Not probable but definitely possible! Enterprise, I’ll never give up on bringing you more fully into the fold! ♥)
In general though, I adore my space-faring kiddos! (And their mentors, of course, and I even appreciate their fleshed-out villains.)
