Ship Name And Registry Generator?

GMSkarka

I figured I'd pose this here.

Does anybody know of any online generator where you can enter a ship name and registry number, and it will generate the hull graphics in the correct fonts and curves?

(So that they can be added to a 3D model, for example)

I saw a site that generates names but it’s more of a spoof generator. Pick your brain, I guess. I’m sure you can come up with a great name...:bolian:

No, I’m talking about generating the *graphics*, not the names.

For example, you enter the name and registration number, and it generates the graphics for the saucer, the nacelles, etc. (right size, fonts, curves, etc. )

That sounds like a very specific tool. Having made alternate registries/nameplates for 3D models of ships more than once, I've definitely fantasized about making some sort of program or script that aligns, sizes, and curves all the markings in the appropriate fonts at the appropriate places so I just have to type in "U.S.S. LOLIPOP NCC-1934" and it all happens automagically, but you'd have to redo it for each ship, each program (or each scale, if you're making decals for physical models), and so on. And even for 3D models, different models do the registries in different way (texture maps, proxy objects, and so on).
