News Seth MacFarlane’s The Orville

I have to say that was pretty amusing and I especially liked the view screen gag. I'll definitely check this out.

The trailer and screen shots reminded me heavily of Galaxy Quest. It actually looks pretty solid. I will watch it.

According to Den of Geek the Season 1 Directors are Brannon Braga, Jon Favreau, James L. Conway, Jonathan Frakes, Robert Duncan McNeil and Seth MacFarlane.

Wow, aside from Braga (didn't even know he had directing experience) and maybe McFarlane himself, that's a good set of directors. Hopefully they'll get LeVar Burton on board in the future.

I like the style, but the jokes are pretty weak. Airing on Fox and co-starring Adrianne "Pilot Killer" Palicki? Not good signs that this will last. ;)

Oh wow, that trailer was so awesome! My favourite bits were the alien officer talking about his race only urinating once a year, and the blob crewman had me laughing a lot more than it probably should have.
As I said elsewhere, Seth must have been a TNG kid.
IIRC, he has admitted as much.

A trailer!

Looks very heavy on the comedy. Nice production values.
Out of all the trailers released over the last few weeks, I think this was my favorite.

I also like the bit about meaning the family no harm, except for shooting their dad.

I didn't catch this myself, but "Captain, we're getting a message from Admiral Halsey" is possible a reference to the Paul McCartney song?

I'm there. :techman:

I'm a McFarlane fan in general, though I lost track of Family Guy a while ago. All TV becomes repetitious, and that thing's been going on forever.

Or the actual Admiral Halsey. Though I'm willing to bet it's the Macca song.
