Definitely time to call it a tie, I think! Both entries should go into the winning entries thread.

Agreed! Congratulations to both Nerys Ghemor and PSGarak! Both or you should post your stories to the winning entries thread.

As to who selects the next challenge theme, you two can collaborate or flip a coin. In the meantime, I'm getting out of Dodge before the smoke clears . . .

Well, you did set the challenge to be Major Malfunction - I guess we should have expected the whole voting thing to fall over...

I think it's quite funny, actually--PSGarak's story and mine make a great matched set! I couldn't have thought of a more appropriate entry to be co-winner with! ;)

PSGarak...I'm gonna PM you over at Ad Astra, since you don't have PM over here yet. I bet we can come up with a good idea...

Even though I was hoping for the Death Match solution, I believe congratulations are in order.

I agree that that both stories were equally worthy to win.

I actually liked Thor Damar's solution of monologues at ten paces.

But, I'm very happy to accept a tie. (And shocked, too!) The stories do make interesting bookends, Cardassian culture at two extremes.

I'm sure we can come up with something good for the challenge. I'll see you over at Ad Astra, Nerys Ghemor, and thanks to everyone who voted!

I didn't even think of the "two extremes" part...but you're very right. Garak came from the most screwed-up background imaginable. And while Berat had something very screwed-up happen to him...he came from a family a lot more like what I imagine the Ghemor family to have been.

While late to respond(I'm on vacation) I agree! 2 great stories-and the devious collaboration promises lots of fun for all!
