A mission of humanitarian aid is needed, The people of Risa are dying
and all the Federation are sending is the medical cruiser, USS
Toronto. Travelling at top speed to make it to planet with plenty of
time, the Toronto is faced with a catastrophic system failure. Held
back for days, rapidly turning into weeks, then to the Commanding
Officer's horror he finds out it could be months!

With communications down, no engines working, even thrusters
offline. The crew begin to get scared, but then to make things worse
the ship begins to feel shudders of movement...

Some Quick Questions

1) What is Star Trek: Echoes?
Star Trek: Echoes is a roleplaying game community centered around the Star Trek Megaverse. It was cofounded by Mark Tucker and Steve Mallory, former freelance artists of Paramount Digital Entertainment. Both have nearly two decades of online gaming experience combined, and started Star Trek: Echoes as a player-centric gaming organization.

2) What eras of Star Trek does Echoes play within?
Right now, Echoes plays in the 'modern' era of Trek, that is, there is a tense peace with the Romulan Empire as the Federation and her Klingon allies work to rebuild the Cardassian Union. We also are launching a ship set during the "Excelsior" Time period.

3) Echoes offers both Chat and PBeM games. What is the difference between Play By Email and Chat based roleplaying games?
Chat based games tend to be a bit more immediate in terms of action and storytelling. You and your fellow players are participating in realtime to create the story, and providing character insights with email logs. Play By Email, or PBeM, is a much slower game, focusing more on character development than fast-paced action. As a player in PBeM, you and the other participants are, essentially, creating a work of interactive fiction.

4) What kind of posts do you have available?

With the A.Q. Alliance only just beginning to flourish & resume it's initial course of expansion, a new agency is emmerging from the Officer Exchange Programs of the Security/Intelligence communities of Starfleet Intelligence, Klingon Empire's Black Fleet, Cardassia's (surviving) agents of the now-defunct Obsiddian Order & reunified Romulan "Tal Shiar" + Vulcan "V'Shar".

It's purpose: to track, study, infiltrate & minimize or altogether neutralize difficult internal/external obstacles (i.e. The Kohn-Ma, Borg Collective, The Dominion, The Orion Syndicate, & it's "Coalition of Non-Aligned Worlds".)

Sanctioned, supported, but never acknowledged....

U.S.S. Odyssey, Veteran Game, Looking for Crew

The U.S.S. Odyssey is a veteran PBEM game that has been around for over 8 years. We're currently looking for some more crew before returning to active simming. The ship/game has been around a long time, so we're not about to fall away or anything. We're a Sovereign-Class ship based in 2382 - about 2+ years after Nemesis.

We could use a Helmsman, a Counselor, and if you aren't sure either of those fit you, inquire to the Captain about any other positions. I'm First Officer myself, but I accidentally deleted the open positions listing in my in-box!

Oh and another ship I'm on, the Republic - www.ussrepublic.org - is also looking for crew. We're active at the moment, and normally recruiting there isn't my area, so I'm not sure what to advertise other than the group is a well written, very intricate, very detailed and cohesive group designed for skilled players who aren't out for slam-bang action and soap opera romance.

Not that the Odyssey is that! LOL. Oh boy now I'm digging myself in...

We are not a typical Gung-ho simm where all we do is shoot up the place, although we do see our fair share of action we are more of a character driven simm that is looking for quality players of any experience level, whether this is your first simm, or if you are a seasoned pro, the Titan is for you and have the folowing Senior Staff Vacancies:

In what era/year is the Seafarer's mission supposed to take place? The Captain is Romulan, but is the ship a rogue Maquis, Orion Pirate, or Starfleet Intelligence vessel? A decomissioned Firefly-like cargo vessel plying the spacelanes looking for opportunity?
