Rey on Jakku.. why? (new theory)

Flying Spaghetti Monster

Vice Admiral

Here's a cool theory that someone came up with on facebook.

Rememebr how angry Kylo Ren was when he learned a girl helped the droid escape?

The theory is that he himself left Rey on Jakku. When it came time to kill all of Luke's students, he could not bring himself to kill her, so he had to hide her away. He also might have had a hand in leaving the Falcon there as well. It was Kylo Ren who killed Constable Zuvio with his lightsaber there.. and it did look like a First Order drop ship (from the beginning of the movie0 that her parents left in.

But then why wouldn't Kylo have sensed Rey's obvious Force sensitivity and then taken her to Snoke to be trained as a fellow Dark Side user?

Based on the flashback we see, it looks like Rey was just a child when she was left on Jakku. I was under the impression that she and Kylo Ren were about the same age, so unless he was a super evil Sith when he was still in kindergarten, I just don't see this being possible.

Kylo Ren is probably closer to 30 than 20. That's the point, he could never bring himself to kill her originally, in the hopes that she would never resurface or that the Force would not call to her, and if it did he would complete his own initiation by killing her.

The whole point of the movie is that Ben is not inherently a bad person. He could not bring himself to kill her originally so he had to hide her away.

I don't think even superevil Sith kindergartners are allowed to fly starships and take care of their peers. They are more likely to set the whole place on fire after they pee in their bed.

That's an interesting theory about Rey, it's very possible that Kylo Ren was still good enough to spare a defenseless child who may or may not be his cousin. Though if that were the case it'd require Luke not to know she was still alive which he should be able to sense. And it makes more sense that Kylo Ren would have left her with some salvager than that Luke would have.

It was almost certainly her mother who left her there, whoever she may be.

I'm really curious about why so few people are speculating over who she could possibly be, honestly.

It's clearly Mara Jade

One person posited it's Felicity Jones from Rogue One, which would be a nifty idea. Though something tells me she'll die in that movie.

Kylo Ren killed Constable Zuvio? :wtf:

yeah it's in the Force vision!

No, it's not...

Some people believe Constable Zuvio appears during Rey’s vision, but Lucasfilm story group member Pablo Hidalgo has confirmed that the person on screen during that moment is a human character, and not Zuvio. We assume that character, who appears during the massacre at Luke Skywalker’s new Jedi Academy, could be a Jedi padawan.

According to the script...

As for the man stabbed with a lightsaber, some fans have incorrectly identified that as Constable Zuvio, but we’ve previously debunked that claim. The script says that it is “A WARRIOR” who is stabbed by “A FIERY LIGHTSABER!”

1) we know why the falcon was there
2) As far as I am aware we never saw Constable Zuvio at all in the film
3) Ren looks to be about 30ish? Rey maybe 18-20? so he did this at 12?

If he is 10-12 years older than her, he would have been in his mid-to-late-teens. "Young Rey" looks to be about 6.

Rey is 19, Kylo is 29-30, according to Pablo Hidalgo on twitter.

The only thing I got from the film was that Han, at the very least, must not know about Rey's parentage if she's a Skywalker or Kenobi - he's pretty clearly just going to dump them into an escape pod onto the nearest planet once he takes back the Falcon until he learns about the Resistance/BB-8 stuff.

To me it looked not like an AAL. I saw it similar to the unspecified background ship, that Rey sees launching as she was eating her meal early in the movie.

A friend of mine, with whom i discussed the movie yesterday, saw the ship as an corellian YT-2400 (Dash Rendar's Outrider from Shadows of the Empire).

Seemed more like he simply didn't register who she was at first, but he started to have suspicions by the time he offered her the job.

After all, he very likely hadn't seen her since she was a little girl.

She was on Jakku because she was an evil, powerful child entity straight out of a Stephen King novel, powered by the Dark Side of "The Force." In a brilliant and clever twist, five-year-old Rey was actually the mastermind and leader of the Knights of Ren.

In the turmoil arising from the rise of the Knights of Ren, Luke and Co. managed to subdue Rey, but they couldn't bring themselves to execute a little girl. So they used "The Force" to put some kind of mental block in place and wipe out her memories, then stranded her on Jakku where she could collect junk and eat instant moss-muffins and never cause any trouble again.

Snoke realizes who she is, and wants Ren to bring her to him so that he can exploit her potential.
