Recent Game Purchases

My last purchase was Ghostbusters.

As for consoles, my mate has only just got a PS4 Pro (He tends to wait for a while) and hasn't got the X-box One yet

I picked up a few more NES games.

Battletoads
Bugs Bunny's Birthday Blowout
Krusty's Fun House
Lunar Pool
Rad Racer
The Simpsons Bart vs. The Space Mutants

Holy FUCK I forgot how hard Battletoads is! I remember the Turbo Tunnel being ungodly but now I can't even get past the second level LEADING to the Turbo Tunnel!

Titan actually just started a brand new Battletoads comic book series.

Got a $10 eshop card last night to get Cattails while it's still on sale. Also pre ordered Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon.

Not a game, but a Koopman Component-to-HDMI converter. My TV downstairs doesn't have component inputs and my TV upstairs wouldn't accept the component signal from my original Xbox. So I picked this up for $20, works like a charm. Absolutely no input lag.

PGA Tour 2K21 for PC. Mind numbing fun for me.

Also scored a Switch on Black Friday from Walmart.com (was that a cluster F!) with Mario Kart 8 so that will be occupying me shortly.

Over the weekend I got Star Wars: Squadrons. I've been in the mood for a space combat game for a while now, and this is really scratching that itch.

I just ordered Hudson's Adventure Island for NES, Super Adventure Island for SNES and Donkey Kong 64 for the N64

Not a game, but I got the Steel Series Arctis 9X headphones for the Series X. Never spent that much on headphones in the entirety of my life.

Heads up for anyone who wants Super Mario 3d All Stars. Walmart seems to still have decent stock of it. It's worth picking up, since digital copies of it won't be available past March 31st.

I picked up a black Nintendo GameCube in PRISTINE condition today with two controllers (also look brand new), an official memory card and five games:

NBA Street
NBA Street 2
NFL Blitz 2003
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Super Smash Bros. Melee

all in excellent condition with cases and manuals :)

Jedi: Fallen Order - it was good that it was on sale because otherwise i might have been angry for getting such an uninspired jump&run platform game ( production value though is very high, it looks awesome but general gameplay design is quite boring)

After watching a couple of YouTube videos by Adam Koralik and The Gaming Historian, I decided to buy an Arcade Works Blinking Light Win for my NES, which has been pretty much useless for years.

It's a front loader, and as I understand it, the constantly inserting cartridges and pressing down to lock it in ends up bending the pins in the system. These pins can be replaced, but over time, they'll also get bent and need replacing.

The Blinking Light Win includes new pins, but also a new tray that doesn't require the cartridge be pressed down to lock it in. You just stick it in and power it on. I installed mine the other day, and my 36 year old NES plays like it's brand new. I haven't had a single blinking light, no blue screen, no static.
