Ahh fair enough, I don't normally have the time to check all the different threads.

Don't worry, the Pike show will be on Crackle. :techman:
I didnt expect them to put it on Amazon, I was expecting Netflix like Discovery has been, wonder if the Georgiou show will be the same or even the Pike/Enterprise show if it happens.

Bit odd for them to be switching overseas distributors like that.

Most people I know use Netflix (mostly) or Amazon but not both.

Ooooh, we can have tons of threads for how to abbreciate the new show!
Possible candidates:
PIC
PCD
STP
Others?

I'm going with PIC. PCD sounds like PD with a C. Picard's not with the Police Department or a Private Dick... except on the Holodeck. :p

Using STP would only validate using STD.

I think Netflix only has a contractual agreement for shows connected to Discovery. Picard went to the highest bidder.
Not surprised, it wont help the show though.

I cant say I am that fussed about the show anyway though, there has been very little information released about it so far and no one seems to know what it will be about, all I have seen so far is some casting announcements of people I have never heard of.

To be honest it makes me think they decided they needed some kind of show set after the events of the destruction of Romulus and decided bringing back Picard was the best way to anchor it, plus it will be close to the Star Trek Online era which could pose problems of its own, yet its too early to see the Enterprise F unless they intend to use Picard as a lead in for an Enterprise F show.

They must have something concrete though or I doubt Patrick Stewart would have gone for it.

EDIT: Finished typing above and posted it then switched to Youtube and was immediately shown the first look for the show...

5 Minutes earlier no sign of it anywhere in my recommended.

Star Trek Online will be pretty much ignored, except for whatever interesting bits they mine out of it.

The tail doesn't wag the dog. ;)

I was surprised they didnt ignore the destruction of Romulus, they could have got away with it if they had wanted to but it must be a central part of the new show.

I wont be surprised if they keep the design for the Enterprise F and the Odyssey class as a whole, the Enterprise E is rather old at this point, we could even find out what happened to it and whether or not it is still in service.

Just been back on Youtube and it is now showing me all the stuff from when it was announced earlier in the week, would have been nice if it had shown me when it was actually new news, buggered if I know what the delay was for.

Well Kurtzman was part of the '09 writing team and a writer on the Countdown comic, so I would have been surprised if they had ignored it.

They redesigned a cultural icon, I wouldn't hold my breath for an Odyssey-class Enterprise.

I understood the reasoning behind the changes to the Starfleet ships as a visual update was to be expected, the reasoning behind the wholesale throwing out of the Klingon ship design in the first season still eludes me.

They fixed it though so that is fair enough.

I do like the Odyssey class as its very much a hybrid between the Galaxy and the Sovereign class in overall shape and design although it is of course considerably larger than either of them.

Did Netflix decide not to bite this time or was it a case of both sides deciding to go their separate ways, will be interesting to see how it all pans out at the very least.
