News Picard to be shown Worldwide on Amazon

There was an interview with Stewart a while back, Kurtzman and Co offered him a new Star Trek script and he basically said 'no'. So Kurtzman went back and just asked for a meeting, no pressure, and Stewart ended up writing about 50 pages of "thoughts" on the new show. So he's into it because he is interested.

Old news. There are a lot of threads about Star Trek: Picard, which I henceforth will abbreviate as PIC, in the Future of Trek section.

I hope we will soon get subsections for all the announced new Star Trek series. Makes discussing them easier.

It occurs to me just now I talked about Picard a lot more than Discovery today. And all the FOT threads are about it now. So, even without an exact release date yet, you might be onto something.

We have an approximate guess for a release date. They say before the end of 2019. And they're already shooting. So, unless they run into post-production problems, or have to reshoot something, we're looking at what? Seven months tops? Maybe even less.

I used to see "ST:TNG" back when I first became a fan. As in ST and ST:TNG. But, it seems to me as if by 1993, it was: TOS, TNG, and DS9. The Okudas basically standardized everything with the Chronology and Encyclopedia.

But even when "ST" was in the front, there was always a colon whenever there was a series or film with a sub-title. If we went back to the old way of doing things, it would be "ST: D" and "ST:P", like @Noname Given has it. Not "STD" and "STP" with no colon in-between.

All I'm going to say is, if if someone says "STD isn't Star Trek!" then I'm going to wonder what the "ST" in it stands for.

Oh boy, an acronym discussion!

Thread topic is for Future of Trek and already being discussed there, so closing here.
