Spoilers Orphan Black Season 4 Discussion

BBC America released a new trailer today and the most surprising thing about it is, the Show is now going to Thursday nights at 10. I wonder why they switched the day. I'm assuming it's a ratings thing, but considering this is the second to last season (According to the writers), it just seems odd to switch it from Saturday to Thursday and have it be an hour later. Also, based on this trailer, this feels more like an action oriented season rather than focusing more on the mystery side of it. Maybe the mystery was just so convoluted that focusing on the action parts might help the show. I'm glad we finally have a date though.

Trailers routinely play up just one aspect of a story, so you can't assume the emphasis of the trailer represents the emphasis of the thing it previews. For instance, most big movies these days tend to have several trailers where the first one focuses mainly on the action, the second gives more of the plot and dialogue, and the third often plays up the humor. Heck, look at the recent teaser trailer for the Ghostbusters remake. Even though the movie is a comedy, the trailer makes it look like a heavy action thriller.

I know, but this trailer was just so weird compared to the rest of the series. It almost felt like watching a different series considering the style that was used. Took a little while to warm up to it.

That's trailers for you. They're made by marketing firms rather than by the makers of the shows/movies, so they don't always fit very well.

I like that Donny's accidental shooting of Doctor Leeky is going to be discovered by more than just Alison.

Yeah. The death of someone that powerful to the neolution movement shouldn't just be swept under the rug (or buried in concrete)

Kinda like the Star Trek Beyond trailer. ;)

Well, the first STB trailer. As I said, movies these days get multiple trailers where each one has a different emphasis. I bet something similar is being done for Orphan Black as well. It's rare for anything (aside from a single TV episode) to get just one trailer anymore. These days we get promos for teasers for trailers for movies. The trailer for Daredevil season 2 was literally part one of a 2-part trailer and ended with a cliffhanger!

I've been watching the trailer a few times today and the one thing that gets me already is what Kira is up to. For one, she sounds angry, talking about people never telling her about the bad stuff, and then we cut to the scene with the Monkey doll burning, and I wonder if that is some bad symbolism. Yeah, I get it's a trailer, but it's always fun to speculate. Also, I really hope we don't get much Cosima pining this season. If there's one reason I hope Delphine is still alive, it's to keep Cosima from Pining.

That trailer is garbage.... like most of last season!
ZING!
I'm here all week, tip your waiters.

BBC America has been showing London Spy and Prey Thursdays at 10, that seems to be the channels new time so there it is. I wish it was Thursdays at 9 I need something to replace Scandal.

Wow -- looks like a few new characters... and Kira has barely aged! (Not quite the difference as Carl from The Walking Dead)

That's easy to answer: The execs responsible for scheduling shows have to try and make it look like they're actually doing a job in order to rationalize their ridiculous paychecks.

Decided to get ready for the new season by doing a Rewatch of the entire series. I'm starting to pick up on different things only two episodes in, like Paul staying at Cody's and Beth's pills and medication. I do wonder though if the Train station is going to play a role in Season 4 at all. I mean Beth must of known Sarah would be there and why did she leave all that stuff there anyway. I keep going back to the Sarah/Beth scene in Season 3 and this is where I really want a prequel series with Beth as a cop. There's still so much we really don't know about her, yet she was the catalyst of it all.

Well isn't season 4 talking about going back to where it began and developing more into Beth's background?
