NFL 2025: A new era dawns?

I read a couple of stories that said that the teams that needed quarterbacks have already got what they wanted and Sanders could be as late as a seventh round pick or go undrafted altogether.
What did he do to upset teams so much?

Trump took time out from attending the Pope's funeral to go on TruthSocial and complain that Sanders wasn't taken in the first round of the draft and that the NFL should be ashamed of itself for not drafting a GREAT (emphasis his) quarterback.

As far as Sanders goes, it may have been an oversized sense of self-importance. While QB may be the most important position in all of sports, football is still a team game. It seemed a lot of what came out of his camp was "look at where Colorado was at, before he showed up."

HIs camp didn't seem to even acknowledge that he was playing with, at least at the college level, a generational talent in Travis Hunter. Someone on the offensive side that opposing teams had to account for every play that left a lot of other stuff wide open. Then there was the stat that he had thrown something like 25% of his passes within two yards of the line-of-scrimmage.

Gotta have priorities!

"Let's go back, even a year ago, when his father, Deion Sanders -- one of the greatest athletes of modern times -- was saying, 'Look, we might pull an Eli [Manning],'" Jones said. "Which, of course, he was referring to how Eli Manning ultimately didn't go to the San Diego Chargers and then engineered, along with his father, a way to go to the New York Giants two decades ago.

"And then his tune changed over the next year. But then what continued to happen? He would tweet after every Las Vegas Raiders loss, 'Thank you God.' And it seemed like the Raiders were destined for the No. 1 overall selection and it seemed like he was trying to engineer his way to the No. 1 pick on a team that was co-owned by Tom Brady. And then, maybe the New York Giants, they're gonna get the No. 1 pick or they're gonna be on top, and so he has New York Giants-colored cleats.

The talking heads create the scenario that Sanders is a first round pick, then they get to keep on talking about how shocking it is this first round player wasn't taken in the first round without acknowledging that they're the ones who created this story in the first place.

Media pushed Sanders hard, probably because it drew eyeballs and clicks.

I hope he’s as good as he thinks he is. Browns also took in RGIII and Deshaun Watson once upon a time and we all saw how well that worked out for them. It’s all well and good to have a shitty season and look forward to some good draft picks in the spring but, FFS, y’all, at some point it’s kind of the point of the game to try to eventually go for a championship! :wtf: :ack:

Hard when you have a $50 million dollar a year albatross of a contract hanging around your neck.
