NFL 2021 season - Belichick Strikes Back

The last two Super Bowls were won by QBs in their very first year with a new team. Somehow I don't think Rodgers wanted that pressure.

I think it's more that Rodgers realized he's now the de facto GM of the Packers, considering they lured his favorite quarterbacks coach out of retirement to replace Nathaniel Hackett, they've made it clear they intend to keep his favorite receiver, and they were willing to destroy their salary cap by 2025 in order to give him all the money in the world. Why leave a situation when you have the team management over a barrel?

Yup. It's being reported as official here on Seattle sports radio.

My cousin's husband is a huge Seahawks fan, and Russell in particular. He's losing his sh*t at the moment on Facebook.

Here's the thing. They might win an extra game or two with him, but the team is still a mess and won't make the playoffs. So what do you do? Plus he didn't seem happy anymore.

I don't agree that the team is a mess - they have a strong defense and a lot of talent on the offense. They were a QB away in a QB-driven league, now they have one. That said, it's an extremely competitive division.

I was talking about Seattle.

Wilson being traded is a lot more shocking than Rodgers decision. This seemed like it came out of nowhere. It also sucks that the NFC West plays the AFC West this year and the 49ers still have to play Wilson. At least it will only be once, and not twice.

Well, I mean, the Bears offered three first-round picks for him last year and Seattle turned them down.

Wilson has a no-trade clause so it limits what can be done. Supposedly there were better offers out there (Philadelphia, N.Y. Giants) but Wilson said no.

Does Wilson get to wear 3 in Denver or will they be retiring Drew Lock's number? :D

Washington offered three firsts, but they were on Wilson's list of teams he refuses to be traded so.
