New American Pie Plot Revealed

I might see this. I like the first three films, although I haven't watched them for a few years. Never seen any of the other movies. It's pretty cool they're getting most if not all the cast together again. Might be nice for a nostalgia trip if nothing else.

I didn't like Band Camp and turned it off part way through. But to my surprise, I did enjoy The Naked Mile and Beta House. My favorite scene from Beta House was that girl doing a stripper routine dressed in a sheep bikini and floppy ears going baaaah! I wish I could find a YouTube clip.

I'm pretty sure they'll be ignoring the DTV's.
They don't have to. They aren't about the characters from the feature films.

Alyson Hannigan would be just about the only reason why I might watch a fourth American Pie movie. If she's out, then I just don't see much of a point.

I'm not having an argument about canon. Someone asked the question, I answered it. Of course they don't need to worry about the DTV's, that's kind of my point.

You know, the original American Pie was sort of endearing in a goofy gross kind of way, because all the sexual hijinks were also stand-ins for the experience of the "rest of their lives" (remember the whole 'to the next step' theme as to why they needed to have sex).

Once they left high school, the whole thing became stupid(er). The endearing quality was gone and it's just stupid sex jokes.

Oh no. Don't tell me we're going to have an argument over which "American Pie" movies are canon or not.

I don't see why anyone would argue about that sort of nonsense, since the fourth theatrical release can easily ignore the three direct to DVD movies without too much hassle. After all, the DVD releases deal with the younger siblings and cousins of the main characters. Why would they be at a high school reunion of the original characters?

And the inclusion of Eugene Levy in all of 'em makes 'em all canon.

Everyone reputable seems to be getting things wrong in the land of internet reporting these days so who really knows. The first and second film were great! I love them both pretty much equally. "American Wedding" was average at best. The only logical plot they could have done for a fourth theatrical film is the gang's ten year reunion. It makes sense. The trick is to make it fun and relevant without forcing anything which is hard to do in sequels, especially in a fourth installment. I suppose that an obvious knee-jerk reaction is "Why are they doing ANOTHER?" I had the same reaction until I read the first story from last year announcing the project intended to bring everyone back. The original full cast had an amazing dynamic with each other which made the first two films work. I like the fact that Stiffler seems to be a failure. I never really saw him accomplishing much in his life.

Yeah, they did a little. I should retract about Steve not accomplishing anything. I always kind of saw him opening up a sports store chain, using start up funds from his parents.

It's a Star Trek board, of course we're going to argue about canon. :p

So long as Alyson Hannigan is on board for this, I'll be there. Michelle is my favorite character from the original films, and while I didn't think Wedding suffered at all from the loss of certain characters, this new movie definitely wouldn't feel right without everyone's favorite flute-toting band geek.

I agree, Michelle is vital, otherwise it feels a bit awkward without Jim having his wife there and I don't think Pie fans would accept a divorce lol.

This one time, at band camp, my wife was trampled by a line of marching tuba players and killed!

I watched "Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back" not too long ago, and I forgot how awfully damn funny Jason Biggs' reaction was to Jason Mewes calling him "The Pie-Fucker".

but aside from Band Camp, have the other d2DVD sequels had any impact of all, on the lives of the charaxcters from the trilogy? any impact that cant just be dismissed with the wave of a hand and "oh yeah that was the plan, but instead we ..."

So a few sites are reporting plat details. Here's one. They're not saying that Alyson has officially signed on, but part of the plot involves Michelle and Jim still being married, so who knows. They're saying Seann William Scott will be back, even though he just went into rehab.
