Nathan Fillion in Star Trek 4?

No, I am not crazy! They say that I am crazy, but I swear that Nathan Fillion is in Star Trek 4! Well, either Nathan Fillion or his freaking clone!

Remember when Chekov is in the hospital because of his unfortunate fall on the aircraft carrier? Kirk, McCoy and Taylor go to rescue him, but his surgery room is guarded by 2 police officers.

I believe that Nathan Fillion is the one on the right.

Here's a youtube video of the scene in question, though the blu-ray release may clear up this issue with its uber resolutions:

The mysterious fillion-esque actor appears at 1:27, and then again at 3:30 (and throughout the chase sequence)

Whoever this guy is, he looks like Nathan Fillion, acts like Nathan Fillion, and sounds like Nathan Fillion.. but he's not credited! Actually, I can't find any record of who that actor is anywhere.

The most compelling evidence against it being Nathan Fillion is that he has his birthday listed as 27 March, 1971. It would make him 15 in 1986, when Star Trek 4 was filmed.

However, actors have been known to obscure their birthdates from the public.

What do you guys think? I encourage you to check it out on the DVD or blu-ray copy, because that youtube copy does make it hard to distinguish his features. Watch the scene in slow mo and see what you think.

Are you talking about the security guard who has dialogue in the scene? I don't see or hear any resemblance to Fillion at all.

Imdb shows his first role in 1993.

So no, he didn't do a role as an adult in 1986 and then drop out of acting for 7 years.

^^^Right, but I was conceeding that maybe his birthday was fudged by a few years on his resume.

The guy who is the cop, whoever he is, is obviously WAY young. Fillion would only have to adjust his age by 3 years in order to make that work, if he were doing to adjust his public birthday, this would probably be a believable amount.

I'm aware that Fillion doesn't appear until 1993 on IMDB, but IMDB doesn't have the actors for the policemen listed. Even Memory Alpha doesn't have that information. The 2 policemen are entirely uncredited, and thus Fillion would not show up on IMDB if, in fact, that is him.

Seeing as how it takes people awhile to "break into" hollywood usually, it's not hard to imagine that Fillion may have started out in small roles, and this role is certainly quite small. He's a little more than an extra, but not quite a character.

That youtube video does not do the scene justice. Take a look on the DVD or Blu-Ray if you have them. If someone could grab a screenshot from the Blu-Ray, that would be awesome.

And he got a facelift and surgery on his vocal cords? That isn't Fillion's face and it sure as hell isn't his voice. The guy bears a passing resemblance to Fillion, but he also bears a passing resemblance to John Travolta. It's a different guy.

Looks like him, but it's not. He would have been 15 at the time of release, 13-14 between the time of shoot.

Frankly, I always thought one of the cops should have been Shatner's TJ Hooker co-star Adrian Zmed (okay, I didn't really think this, but it's kind of funny to imagine).

That's not Nathan, that's Joe Lando. Probably the role he's best known for is Sully in Dr. Quinn.
