Narada Incursion

Just wondering if this forum should be renamed to Star Trek Movies: The Narada Incursion since that is the name given to it by Wesley Crusher in Star Trek: Prodigy. J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot production team internally referred to the new Star Trek movie universe they created as the Kelvin Timeline, but, of course, no one in-universe in Star Trek would call it that. Makes sense to me.

For what it’s worth, I agree with you. The reason that universe exists in the first place is because Nero went back in time with his Uber-huge mining ship and killed Robau. Yeah, the Kelvin did ram into the Narada, but it wasn’t the cause for the timeline branching off.

But with that said, don’t expect the forum to change the name any time soon.

It's not up to me, anyway. I mean: if everyone in the forum unanimously agreed on the name-change, I'm sure that would be taken into account, but ultimately, it's an upper-management call.

You don't know that. For years people claimed the Mirror Universe couldn't be called that in universe, but Disco's been doing just that since 2019.

The Kelvin surviving or not is vital for a lot of human, Starfleet and Kirk related things, so I can 100% see Starfleet's time police using it as the name of the branch timeline.

It's from official merchandise, IIRC they came up with it for the 2016 Encyclopedia update and a Bluray re-release.

Even though it's a different timeline, the KT really IS a part of the PT in a way- Old Mr Spock is the PT Mr Spock. Nero and his crew were PT people who ended up in the KT. Various people throughout the PT are aware of the existence of the KT. Heck, someone from the KT even came over to the PT. I tend to think of the KT as a branch of the PT, not a completely different thing.

I think the Narada probably would've done something to history even if the Kelvin wasn't the first speed-bump it ran over.

Wait wait, Old Spock created the black holes. It should be the Old Spockiverse.

But that opens the can of worms as to whether it was the travelling back or the interacting with the past that led to the alternate timeline... didn't Wesley say it's fine unless you make big changes, then it branches off?

Then it would still be the Neroverse, since Old Spock didn’t arrive there until 25 years after Nero did, long after Nero’s incursion caused the changes to the timeline.
