I've seen 47 of the films on that list, although there's more than a few that I wouldn't consider sci-fi. My favourite science-fiction films not on there are Gattaca, The Andromeda Strain and Alien 3. It's nice to see some love for The Abyss even if it is so far down the list.

Gattaca, in my opinion is a Masterpiece. And why the HELL is AKIRA so high up? that movie is OVERrated, GHOST IN THE SHELL shuld be in the #4 spot, but it's your list, you can do what you want with it.

3. ummm...new Star Trek flick? haven't seen it yet (yeah yeah yeah but the normals want to go with me, for a change, but normals don't have much of a sense of overwhelming urgency toawrds a movie likely to be in the theaters for months)

Since #3 is up in the air, that's where I have to stop.

I've seen 73 or so of your list. Really gotta get around to The Blob. But overall, I think I'm happy ignoring some of that stuff.

BTTF2 was great and so was A.I., Hulk was better then the last one from 2003! "Brazil" is on my fantasy list.

Yeah, there are also those two (although I have yet to see The Black Hole and I don't think Silent Running would make my Top 100). Another one that occurs to me is Outland (1981).

I like Silent Running, even if you can drive trucks through the holes in the premise. Remember, back then there wasn't much at all to choose from...
