Mass Effect 3

What's the deal with Allers?
is there any purpose to having a strange looking, poorly voice-acted noncom on the ship?

So far she's giving you 5 points for the war effort.. maybe she has more use but i'm early in the game.

get ALL the points!
so far she's pretty annoying, in my opinion . . . surely they could have picked a better actor than a talking head from IGN . . .

I spent a good 20 minutes trying to perfect my attack on a thing that was begining to really piss me off cause I was dying so much. But when it started talking to me I shat my pants that was neet.

Too bad about what had to occur afterwards though I really would have had not to have did what I had to do. Specially after all the videos in tron-world.

Well, she really serves one purpose

You get to sleep with her at one point

Same thing goes for Specialist Samantha Treynor.

if you're talking about what I think you're talking about . . .
I KNOW RIGHT!? that was a seriously frustrating battle

I managed to get the 'everybody lives' result of that mission
Legion sacrifices his individuality and spreads his intelligence to the rest of the Geth, and Quarians and Geth agree to live and work together.

I haven't used the DLC squad member all that much, but I just finished one of the Priority missions and, damn, was I glad I took him along. He had dialogue during that mission that I feel really added to the history of the ME universe.

I dont know if anyone else noticed this but on the wall of the Normandy there is a
Memorial with the names of all your crew members you've lost since Mass Effect 1. It updates as you go through the game
:(
Unfortunately, I've noticed that there's an entry missing.
Kelly Chambers, who can die in ME3 if she survived ME2.

Yeah I learned my lesson in ME2: given the option, ALWAYS punch the reporter. One of the few renegade actions I've taken.
Except, if you don't punch her, it can play out so that you gain her as a War Asset!

After certain big events, she'll ask to interview you in your cabin. Your dialogue choices can have positive or negative consequences for War Assets.

Also, as clint g pointed out, she is a possible romance option - for both male and female Shepards. Samantha Traynor is an option only for female Shepards, and Cortez is an option only for male Shepards.

For me, the old cliché "third time's a charm" proved to be true for that particular battle. I also managed to get the same outcome as backstept.

You know, I think the best thing about the multiplayer is it helped me get used to the updated combat and movement system ahead of the main game. Instead of flailing around in the first couple of hours not knowing what to do, I've been pretty much destroying everything in my path right from the beginning.

So in the end, it looks like you need the multiplayer in order to get the best ending - and at least one of the achievements. I'm near the end of the game, exhausted most of the content, and have a readiness of 7000. Cut in half, that's 3500. It's still enough to fill out the bar, but given that the achievement related to that doesn't pop until it's higher, there's an indicating that you still need more readiness points that simply aren't available.

You know, it's not that I'm likely to replay the game later on, but I wonder what happens when either no one is playing the game online or the servers are shut down.

On another note, I'm disappointed that they didn't include a full character creator with the ability to pick out the choices from the first two games - especially since the only way to get some content is to have a character who made very specific choices in ME1 and ME2. At the moment, short of replaying the three games, you're stuck watching videos on youtube if you want to see some of the alternate scenes.

If you keep Allers around and give interviews, you can increase certain war assets depending on how you deal with the dialogue choices.

While I'm enjoying it so far, so many of the missions have felt like FPS stuff. "clear this area" "defend this area" etc.. followed by lots of random shooting till all the bad guys are dead Not loving that.

Ah, shit. Turns out I played ME2 on my old 360 which RROD'd. I had to type in manual background choices.

I know you need MP or the iOS game to get "Defender" (100% all areas of the galaxy).

Do you know the number of how many readiness point are needed for that achievement?

You're SOL, much like the other games EA has done that to.

Did they change the Alliance uniforms? It's been awhile but they look completely different and much cooler...

Art book says yes. Which I think is too bad, the old ones were fine and it would've been a nice point of visual continuity.

Just finished the Prologue. Very cool stuff. The music at the ending was really cool too, with the piano and the blaring Inception fog horns. I'm excited

I think the game is really good. There are two fights were I had to just run for the end cause I was getting swarmed by Banches I wasn't making any ground. The ending up until the statement of my choices was great! after that it sucks hard. I had a full green bar cause i have OCD and made sure Id have all endings.

Frankly they all suck. Their should have been four types of endings.

1). The Reapers win;
2). The you take control of the Reapers as as.
3). The middle ending is just stupid, redo it all.
4). The Reapers are defeated, the galaxy is saved and the mass relays are saved as well.

YOu wouldn't think that would be hard. But its a massive let down on how much the endings actually suck and have nothing to do with what I did during the game.

Just don't get used to that style, Clint Mansell did that and half of one other track.

Seeing as how he did almost nothing, and Bioware reused a bunch of tracks from the first two games in thematically-inappropriate ways*, I think that he didn't deliver and they had to patch things up at the last minute.

* And in thematically-appropriate ways too, I should add. "From Ashes" gets bonus points for its reuse of ME1 music in parallel scenarios. But random use of "Battle for Eden Prime", especially when fighting non-geth, doesn't. :p

I just finished the story . . . WOW
I don't think I got a very good ending, but it was still a "HOLY MOSES!!!!" type of ending

now I have to do a femshep playthrough
