Okay, just to change the subject and bring down the temperature in here...

Alex Perez gave another one of his insider interviews on Cosmic Circus's Discord recently. He talked about various future MCU projects, but here's one I thought tasty grounds for speculation:

"And we know that the endgame for the Multiverse Saga is going to be Secret Wars, there is no doubt about it. However, there is a story that has been built up by multiple projects (starting with Spider-Man: Far From Home) in the MCU, which I call 'The World War Storyline'.

This storyline, which has been cooking from the sidelines, essentially has the countries of the world in fear of the unprecedented number of heroes that have started to pop up in recent years, and the number of incidents that have occurred recently in the MCU since the events of Endgame. And with no Avengers currently active, the nations of the world are in a race with each other to try and develop their own superhuman soldiers or teams to defend themselves from all enemies foreign and domestic.

It’s why France was suspiciously trying to obtain vibranium from Wakanda in a covert operation at the beginning of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The same reason applies to the United States trying to obtain Vibranium without Wakanda’s knowledge in the middle of the ocean before being intervened by Namor and the Talokans. It’s also why the United States has the Department of Damage Control (DODC) handle any superhuman incidents such as in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Ms. Marvel, and She-Hulk: Attorney At Law.

This storyline is about to reach its peak point in the MCU in stories like Captain America: Brave New World (originally called New World Order, remember?), where we’ll see some countries trying to harvest materials to develop their own superhuman teams, while others are already so advanced that they’re already experimenting and creating their own version of superhumans such as The Leader, Red Hulk and don’t get me started on the ones we’ll see in Thunderbolts*.

Where am I getting at with this? Marvel Studios is setting up a World War Hulk project, albeit not in the way that people would expect. The idea is for Bruce Banner, who teased the dangers of Hulk’s blood (getting in the wrong hands) back in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, to finally see his worst nightmare come to life; the United States government (led by Thunderbolt Ross) and the governments of the world creating their own Hulks.

This might be the breaking point for Banner and could potentially see the return of the Savage Hulk people have been wanting to see for so long as he goes toe to toe with President Ross as the Red Hulk, which I’m being told will happen sooner rather than later."

It never ceases to amaze how these grifters can tell us in great detail about movies that won't happen for years and yet utterly fail to, for example, know any of the recent Fantastic Four casting announcements.

When even the actors appearing in the movies have to go through massive security precautions to read scripts they must be pulling off some real Mission Impossible shit to be able to read them so far in advance.

I love Shawn Levy's work for Stranger Things and Free Guy is a lot of fun. If Marvel is considering him to direct the next Avengers film based off of Deadpool & Wolverine, then i would say that's very encouraging news all around.

Oh...well?

Kate was by far my least favorite lead on LOST and Tauriel was completely pointless in The Hobbit films (but that's more of the fault of the films, Lily was pretty good at speaking Elvish much like Liv Tyler), but I will say that I mostly liked Hope.

Still, not a fan of her anti-vaxxer comments so I won't miss her that much.
Recast Kate Beckinsale.

This might surprise you, but the focus is only on Lily's anti-vax stance (who just so happens to be a woman) because she was the topic at hand, and not because she's a woman. Rob Schneider is also an asshead, if that helps balance the scales?

Noble attempt at distraction though. The thing about burning down buildings didn't work so sexism is a good second try. ;)

Yup. And don't get me started on Aaron Rodgers.

He has a verified allergy to a vaccine ingredient so it could cause him to go into anaphylactic shock and die.
Regardless of whether or not that is true, he lied to the general public and his teammates about his vaccination status. He probably lied about his supposed allergy as well. if he lied once, he probably lied twice.

Next!

People who aren't science illiterate and have awareness of the possible consequences of our actions care.
The consequences of not doing what a control freak wants you to do are sufficiently obvious. It makes the control freak very mad. And then they boycott all your movies. You'll never work again, Evangelion! :wah:
I don't argue with science deniers for the same reason that I don't argue with religious zealots.
What is a science denier? Is that someone who denies that science exists? Are they like the people who deny that governments hold elections?
Science isn't a democracy.
This is true! It appears to be more like a monarchy. Peasants do as they're told.

Who is this person and why should I believe anything they say?

It's kind of funny how he says lots of story lines and then discusses one. Am I the only one who finds the "New World Order" idea more interesting than all the multiverse stuff. In fact, now that Kang's out of the picture, I was kind of hoping the Secret Wars stuff would be completely rewritten.

I think it would be more interesting to see the two part Avengers movie split into a political story following up on Captain America, Wakanda, and Thunderbolts--and then a story resolving multiverse incursions--but not adapting that Secret Wars II story line.

I chose just that one to save on space and because it was particularly intriguing to me. Your mileage may vary. :)

Who is this person and why should I believe anything they say?

The guy runs a pop culture site, The Cosmic Circus, and seems to have an in at Marvel that feeds him info. Not always (or at times even mostly) accurate of course, but the MarvelStudiosSpoilers Reddit seems to hang on his every word. You’re free to take what he says with a ton of salt (I do) or dismiss it entirely. I just thought it was an interesting theory that connected some dots nicely and (if true) would finally impart some direction and momentum to this otherwise very disjointed saga.

Yes, yes, and yes yet again. In all honesty, the only multiverse stuff that interests me in the least is Deadpool stuff. Otherwise, meh.

No, you are not. The political intrigue plots were the MCU at its best by far, all centered in Captain America-related films (and The Incredible Hulk, to a certain degree).

Or dropped.

I would welcome the part in bold. Some of Marvel best comics over the past 50+ years dealt with political drama (in a serious manner, unlike the Civil War movie).
