No, it's too soon.

Wait until after full casting, sets are built and there is solid date to begin shooting episodes.

It's an animated show :P

And like most animated series, there will be hundreds of snippets of info about the show as it goes through all the production stages, so it's best to have its own sub. This isn't a hypothetical show - it's a greenlit 2-season show that has a title, scripts, cast and crew.

I'm guessing on animated shows they record the voicework before they do any of the animation right? Otherwise it would be hard to get the animated lips to match what was being said.

For a new show with likely lots of improvised dialogue that'll only come out of a table read, yes.

But for stuff like The Simpsons and Family Guy, they actually start animating the episodes using a team of non-famous voice actors recording the dialogue as placeholders. Then after the bulk of an episode is produced, the main cast re-record the dialogue. Any addition improv they add to a scene then gets animated and inserted into the episode by a dedicated US animation team, who are also responsible for keeping older in-the-can episodes fresh.

Which is how an episode like the upcoming Simpsons finale can be both 2+ years old when it was initially animated, yet have jokes about topics as fresh as that day.

I think it's to soon for a forum dedicated to it. We don't have any casting, etc for it yet. When the time comes I think it might be better to just grouped both animated shows together and label threads in regard to which one you're talking about. At least at the start anyway.

They're going to have to change the forum layout anyway. Otherwise
where do you place Discovery Season 3
?

We must be getting casting announcements very soon! Next week's Upfronts?

(Poll is just to politely nudge the moderators!)

110%. A show has a name, it needs a forum. Not only for the health of the forum but also to grow and maintain interest in the Lower Decks.

Discovery had its own forum at this stage in development, so let's not have a double standard. Forum reorganization is also a must, preferably to the style as I outlined in another thread.

Not always, but that's the goal.
