LOST: The Complete Collection

That's what I ultimately had to do for a package that required I sign at delivery-time. Really annoying especially since my UPS pick-up location closes at 5...there was no way I could get there without missing some work.

Got it! I had to attend a symposium today and the last session was canceled so I was on the way home at 3pm. UPS came back just after 5. Yay!

Got mine today too! It is AWESOME. I love the packaging. It may be bulky and hard to store but sometimes the "cool factor" makes it all worthy it. :bolian: I am thinking that it needs to go on the coffee table for a while before I shelve it with the DVD collection. It is just to nifty to hide away.

As for the set... I love how the box is textured to feel like stone. And the little map of the island is sweet! It is gold, shiny and embossed. But I may have blinded myself with the little black light. It said "Don't look directly into light" on the packaging so that was the first thing I did. :rommie:

You'll have to let us know what you can see in the episodes now that your brain's been reprogrammed by the Dharma Initiative. :)

Arrived in the mail from Amazon today and I watched Pilot through Walkabout tonight. (Oh, and I watched The New Man in Charge right away also) Happy happy joy joy! :D

Ah, Season 1 is so quaint. No Desmond, no Ben, no Dharma....

Ordered the Blu-ray from Barnes and Noble's website for about $150 with a coupon. Let's hope they honor it.

To quote myself from a different thread-

I received the complete series on Blu Ray yesterday...OMG seeing it this way is magnificent...it's like cleaning a layer of dust off a standard tv while turning it into a widescreen at the same time and realizing you had the "Awesome" switch turned off by accident.

Since the complete collection boxset is so heavy, I wonder if you could kill someone by smashing it on someone's head?

There is a very good possibility you could. It really does weigh a ton! :rommie:

And I have been tinkering with the game today. I wish I knew how to play it. But like the dark clothed brother said, I could just make up my own rules.

Oh and has anyone used the little black light yet? I have found several interesting things with it so far. I also noticed that "the numbers" are faintly scratched into those little lids covering the inside compartments. Needless to say, someone went to a lot of trouble designing the packaging for this thing. It is nothing short of awesome.

I found Jacob's message in the Ankh but haven't investigated it yet.

I found some interesting black light stuff too, but I don't know whether this thread is supposed to be spoiler-free or not. :)

^ Well since I didn't label it as such, I think we should probably refrain from spoilers... unless you use spoiler code.

But I found a ton of stuff with the black light... but I also scanned everything with it, including the box. I am not sure what it all means yet though.

And I looked at Jacob's message but I haven't gotten around to figuring it out either. I am thinking it has something to do with the map of the island... but I am not going to give it away just yet.

It seems that rules for Senet -are- included with The Complete Collection.

...and that's all I'll say about that, unless people want to contact me directly.

I must have missed it... or didn't know that's what it was for. I may just send a PM. I am lazy like that. :rommie:

Edit to Add: I did find it. I just didn't realize it. I also found the other "thing" last night too. (I am thinking about going on Lostpidia to be sure I actually figured everything out. Damn I am going to miss these little scavenger hunts.)

One thing I haven't found that's advertised in some locations and not others (including the package, which makes me think it may not have made it to the final cut) is the "humorous yet emotional" tribute to the dead characters.

^ I haven't located that yet. Sometimes those easter eggs are damn hard to find.

Oh and before I forget, Jacob's note in the Ankh is telling you how to find something in the set. But I am not telling what it is exactly since that would spoil the surprise. The black light is also there to help. (It is so feakin cool once you figure it out!)

Right now I'm thinking the only box set I have which is as cool as this one is the Six Feet Under one, which included a neat little "In Memoriam" booklet with obituaries for the main characters and, even cooler, both soundtrack CDs released for the show. Oh, that one also included much better (i.e. less likely to scratch) packaging for the discs. I do -not- like the packaging for the Lost discs, though I'm not as worried since I bought a Blu Ray player that's quite good at penetrating scratches.

Now, if the Lost set included the soundtracks...well, as Sawyer would say, Son of a Bitch! :)

I haven't heard of anyone claiming to find that featurette. I'm beginning to think that it's not included in either the DVDs or the Blu-Ray.
