It's kinda funny how negative the posts are when 72% of us scored it Above Average or Excellent and only 5% gave it a Poor
That's because Trekbbs fans are very pro LOST. If you visit other LOST fansites, you'll notice that reactions to this episode have been very mixed.
On TV.com, nearly all the the episodes of LOST have a rating above 9.0, which tells you how great this show this is. But
Across the Sea currently has the lowest episode rating of season six at 8.5. That's worse than
What Kate Does.

I don't even interpret it as "pro-Lost." I think, for the most part, people here are level headed and are adopting a wait and see attitude. There are only three and a half hours left. Even if the show is ruined for you by the end, it's not that big an investment to make it there.
I mean, we all made it through
Fire + Water,
Stranger in a Strange Land, not being told what was in the hatch until season two after having it built up all through season one, and Nikki and Paulo. I'm sure we can make it through a couple more hours.
The histrionics and narcissism on display on other message boards, two things that I associated with TWoP especially way before this past episode of Lost, are just silly.
I didn't particularly think
Across the Sea was amazing or mind blowing. I think it's the mother of all setup episodes (the Crazy Mother of all setup episodes, if you like). There have been better setup episodes, sure, but it's really hard to freak out over it without seeing what, exactly, it's setting up. What I mean by that is how does the light, the heart of the Island, the revelations about Jacob and his brother's motivations, and so on affect our characters as they go into the end game?
