Look like "The Crow" is being sent out to die.

Lionsgate is having a bad year. The Crow is coming to PVOD after only three weeks. Same thing happened with Borderlands.
Why do they do that, is it just desperation to get something on the books? Seems like it just encourages skipping these things.

The only thing I can think is to maybe to try to make some money before they’re slated for basic streaming.

I think they want to "capitalize" on all that wasted marketing while the movie is still fresh in people's minds, but really they're just devaluing their own product.

They're trying to save face, sounds like. In other words, since it's bombed at the box office, they know they've already peaked there, so they move on to another source of revenue, VOD aka renting. The chances are slim that it will make up the money it lost at this point.
