Let's talk about our Avatars

I change it to whatever I like in a new episode, trailer, etc. If I haven't changed it in a while, nothing interesting happened in the franchise, and during breaks without new episodes I've changed it to work pictures or whatever random stuff I found in my picture collection. The current one is from the LDS S3 opening.

Looks more like one of my LSD trips, but good nonetheless.

Some people have mistaken my avatar for a cosplay selfie. I wish I could make an Andorian getup that legit (and look that good in it).

It's actually an old promo picture from Tim Russ's fan-film "Star Trek: Renegades" (2015). The gal in the picture is actress Courtney Peldon, in costume as Shree, interviewing other actors and workers on the set. Peldon also played the aptly named Karen Farris, in the DS9 episode "Valiant." (Shree is a lot more likeable.)

My avatar is some fan art of Jay Kristoff's Nevernight Chronicle. Unfortunately I don't know who the original artist is to give proper credit to. I consider the series to be a bit of an acquired taste, but it's become one of my favorite modern dark fantasy trilogies.

My avatar is the futuristic ocean liner S.S. Gigantic from Paramount's The Big Broadcast of 1938, one of those musical revue movies consisting of a bunch of music and comedy acts strung together with a thin plot. It's the film in which Bob Hope introduced what would become his signature song, "Thanks for the Memory."

I just love the fanciful 1930s Streamline Moderne design esthetic.

That’s my current fav.
I figure by not having an avatar paid for the space taken up by links ;)

Rincewiend had some cool ones.

I have had my avatar for many years, I went looking for a cartoon picture of a three legged cat - because the Real Miss Chicken only had three legs - and found one that was actually on a plate for sale. Some time later another member (I think it was trekkiedane) improved it and added the sombrero during the long ago sombrero craze. The tail even wagged during the stage when we could have moving avatars.you can still see it wag if you click on the avatar.

I have no memory of what my avatar was before this one.

My avatar is my dog Gracie looking up at me as I hold a piece of her food behind my phone. For a while my avatars were my favorite characters from movies, books, TV shows, games, ect., but I think from now on if I decide to change it, it'll be to other animals.

My avatar was made for me (during the height of the Sombrero craze  ) by a member of this board. Unfortunately I totally forgot who, specifically, made it. :alienblush:

So whoever made it for me, I just want them to know I appreciate it very much! :techman:

Minus the Sombrero craze, same thing. Board Admin @EricF made my avatar for me. It's an Oddish, so... well, obviously.

So, thanks again, EricF.

I've told this story many times but here goes:

I had several different avatars when I first joined but eventually landed on the cartoon character of "Bloo," from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. I spent many years taking care of my nephew, sometimes spending 2 to 4 days each week with him, and we often watched cartoons together. I always liked the character of "Bloo" and blue is far and away my favorite color.

So I made several different avatars of Bloo and cycle through them as the mood hits.
