No, he's right, I'm sorry to say. Very few people know how to write Star Trek. It's more about what you don't say and show as it is about what you do. Kurtzman just doesn't have any idea what he is doing. It's all about juggling metaphors and they lost Joe Menosky who did most of the heavy lifting (no, not robbing) and hitting.

When I was a little boy and it was time for dinner, I just ate whatever it was presented to me, whether it was Clams Casino, Grilled Fish Steaks, or Broiled Lobster Tails. Same with watching STAR TREK, as a child. Whatever episode the franchise was serving up, I ate it up. There were stories I preferred, to be sure. But even if it wasn't a favourite, it sure beat having nothing at all. Haven't you ever felt that way, Valenti?

NuTREK started out strong ... I'll admit. Though, I wanted its differences to be bolder and more aggressive. But a balance had to be struck, I guess, between "The Old Guard" and these "Young Turks." Anyway, STAR TREK 2009 turned out to be surprisingly entertaining and fresh. Now, it's kind of ... I don't know ... it's kind of given us the best it had, already. When something is new it has the benefit of being new. After that, it's time to give up The Goods. And I found myself wondering, watching BEYOND, "... where are The Goodies?" The reboot's running out of steam and I really do feel that it's time to reboot the reboot.
