Is it worth watching?

I think it's worth watching, especially if you were a fan of Voyager and want some closure to that show. Keep in mind that while Prodigy's target audience was supposed to be young kids, the show is quite adult in nature, and there are concepts that would probably go right over a young kid's head. But in my opinion, the show is the best offering of the five Paramount+ shows produced.

Another fan here. IMO, it's only real weakness was the effect the mandated half-hour format had on some of the stories the writers wanted to tell.
But lots of fun to watch, IMO.

I love Prodigy! I want to hug each of the kids (or whatever gesture is considered comforting to their particular species). I think the final two episodes, in particular, were really touching, truly thrilling and deeply appreciative toward Trek as a whole. I was and am so excited to see more Janeway (and past and present crew). I’m so looking forward to expanding the world of Prodigy and of Trek in season two!

There's a string of good episodes and some well thought out arcs.

But right at the beginning, there are like 5 painfully simple morality plays in a row were 5 year olds can learn boilerplate crap things like co-operation, and honesty is the best policy, or be proud of who you really are.

I never understood the trend in looking down on morality tales. Star Trek is often held up as a social influence on people's lives but simple morality tales are not appropriate for a *checks notes* a kid's show?

Prodigy is definitely the best of the collective of modern day streaming shows. I prefer the standalone episodes to the story arc centric episodes, though the story arc is still exceptionally good. I just like this show when I can mindlessly watch a self contained episode and not have to think about an often complicated overarching plot too much.

Omg.

They are going to make a third season of the Animated show, with exactly the same animation as 1973.

The future is 1973.

Prodigy can sod off.

And it already is available on a pair of half-season DVD sets. Probably to keep the price point down to what kids can afford to spend out of a few months' lunch money.
