How many newbies will last?

Ah, TNZ...I'm so glad I don't even have to look at that place anymore. It was always way too angry.

I've managed not to call anyone a cunt yet, even in the affectionate British way.

I always feel like my mom will find a way to slap me though my computer if I say it. She lives 15 miles away, but the fear is still there. ;)

You guys are discussing the movie in TNZ? That actually sounds like it would be fun to watch!

It's actually remarkably mundane compared to the discussions of the movie elsewhere.

Yep. The derogatory form is still used there too, but it can be used as a term of endearment (more like mock teasing, really) to a friend. It's all in the tone of voice and context.

Sort of like jokingly saying to your friend "pick up the tab, you cheap bastard" here.

I strongly recommend that you don't do this.

Oh no, you can't fool me. I'm coming over there, and I'm calling everyone a cunt just to fit in and be neighborly.

"Pardon me, is there a vacancy at this hotel, you cunt?"

"Hey cunt, where's the loo?"
(see, I'll pepper it with jolly olde English terms like that to show that I'm down with the people).

What are you talking about, you faacking cant ?

My friends, coworkers, and I use the word "cunt" way more than we should. One of these days we're going to offend someone.

Since the newbies were drawn in by a movie, there will probably be a significant dropoff after a while. If it were a series, it would be different, since there would be something new to talk about every week.

Since the new Trek movie came out, there have been a lot of new posters at the TrekBBS. However, we must face facts. Not all of these posters will stick around.

What is the average turnover for TrekBBS postership?

Dunno. I've made it so far lol.

I suggest making shooting heroin and cocaine a requirement for posting in STXI forum. That should keep 'em coming back.

I think there will be a pretty decent turnover...I've already seen what appears to be a good number of them who posted their reviews and then disappeared.

Eh, it's actually rather disappointing (well, disappointing in a miraculous and kinda strange way). The only real hate has been of the playful banter sort. I'm still waiting for the disaster, personally.

That's 'cause all the vitriol's in the Trek XI forum!
