OH man, totally - you know it was him pushing for this move as he's been Bert's biggest and only fan (outside of Burke).
At $1.95 mil I guess it's not that bad, but when you factor in his baggage and the fact that his back still really bothers him, not so sure he's worth it. Still, they needed to replace the loss of Tanguay and Huselius.
So that's 4 teams for Bert since he got traded from Van - Fla, Det, Ana and the Flames....

Certainly Pens fans appreciated him. He's always been very popular. Of course, it helps that he's a hometown player, and the son of an ex-Pen. There's been some questioning as to why the Pens didn't fight a bit more to keep him, but it was pretty well understood they couldn't afford him unless he took reduced pay.I think Ryan Malone was a bigger part of the Penguins than people realize.
