Great Moments: Data/Geordi

Star Treks

The second in a series of threads discussing your favorite moments between two different TNG characters - I think it's the 1-on-1 interaction between the characters that really allowed us to get to know them and appreciate their characters. This time, I'm asking, what's your favorite Data/Geordi moment/scene? I loved their friendship, and I found it one of the more convincingly human relationships on all of TNG.

Its the only good part of the episode but i never get tired of the scene from Force of Nature when Data and Geordi are talking about getting Spot to behave.

Geordi: Well, maybe you just bounce a phaser blast of her head and then she'll learn.
Data....Geordi......I cannot stun my cat.

Weird but that was the first thing I thought of too. It's funny how Geordi is like I was kidding Data geez!

I can't think of one moment in particular, but I like most of the scenes where Data does something and Geordi later tells him it was very human.

Oh, here's just a good standalone moment... Geordi telling the story of the time Data decided to try swimming and ended up sinking to the bottom of the lake. Apart from the fact that Data wasn't really in his right mind at the moment, it's still a good scene.

Oh man, there are so many great scenes between them! That's why I love those guys so much!

One of my favourite moments is aptly summed up by Riker:
"A blind man teaching an android how to paint. That ought to be worth a couple of pages in someone's book."

I love the look on Riker's face in that scene:

Yeah, it's a great character beat all round. :) I also liked the time when Data grew a Riker-esque beard. Geordi's reaction was pretty good.

It's one of the few TNG jokes that still makes me laugh.

I would like to add the "Goodbye" scene in Nemesis. As awful as a job Baird did directing that movie, he did manage to frame that shot almost perfectly.

"The Most Toys" had some good 'non' moments too.

Well, there was at least one time when Geordi couldn't help but laugh at his guiless android friend.

The most blatant of these incidents is in "The Last Outpost," when Data's fingers get stuck in the Chinese finger puzzles. Geordi says, mocking, "My hero," and laughs uproariously.

I also like how Geordi defends Data to Pulaski in "Elementary, Dear Data," when she makes a number of disparaging remarks about how Data lacks originality and inspiration.

Red Ranger

Another one of my favorite moments... when Geordi and Data are about to enter that wormhole that ends up taking them to the Delta quadrant when they think it leads elsewhere. Geordi says something like "The idea of being stuck out there for centuries is not too appealing" and Data says "There is a bright side: You will have me to talk to."

AWWWWWWWWWW!!!!! :D
