Once the Observers started reproducing artificially, they just didn't make females since they had purged emotions and decided females were not necessary.

But where did they get unfertilized eggs from? Or did they just stockpile a google-plex of them for future use? (no pun intended).

They don't necessarily need the eggs. They create an artificial matrix in place of the unfertilized egg and insert the DNA into it.
