New teaser for Gareth Edwards’ ‘JURASSIC WORLD: REBIRTH’Trailer releases tomorrow.

They seriously love that road flare don't they? (Am I talking about the T-rex or the filmmakers?)

So this is Isla Sorna (Lost World, Jurassic Park III) so I guess that is not the Jurassic World (Isla Nublar) monorail--or if it is it's in a panorama over the original island as they go to the other.

So this is basically JP3 without the kid and with fewer helpless civilians. Not exactly thrilling but I'll take it over the last three films in a heartbeart, especially with these actors.

Gotta say, though, while I've never liked the JW focus on the dinos being monstrous genetic freaks, it's extra obnoxious that the new big bad doesn't even look like a dinosaur.

I thought they said the last movie was the last movie of the franchise. Just watched the trailer and I guess they are starting a new trilogy of films or something? Still feels like a cash grab, but Scarlett Johanssen was looking great in it. I think I stopped watching these movies after Fallen Kingdom.

Is it kid-free? I didn't see 5 or 6, but 1-4 all found ways to sneak kids (usually preteens) into harm's way.

As long as they're profitable, they keep coming. That's why Disney's made so many lousy live action remakes... they're bad, but people still go to them.

Looks like they're still using ordinary planes and boats. When are they going to realize that "spared no expense" should include an Apache helicopter.

The entire point of the original movie was that these dinosaurs aren't real. They have been altered with other DNA, and literally have versions like software because they found flaws they corrected.

This new movie looks like great, dumb entertainment and I'm here for it. If I need great cinema, I know here to go. These movies are not made to win oscars, but to be fun on a Saturday night while having snacks and beer.

I still need to see the first 3 Jurassic World movies, but this thing looks hella cool. Plot-wise, it looks like it's combining elements of both The Lost World and JP3, but hopefully it won't suck like the former did.

No, the entire point of the original movie is that life finds a way and can't be neatly controlled. Whether they're 'real' dinosaurs or not (and yes, they aren't) is completely irrelevant to that. And the JW movies' insistence on focusing on them being not real all the time not only completely undermines that core theme of the franchise, it's also only ever led to utterly moronic ideas like the I-Rex (which no sane person would ever create), Indoraptor (ditto), dinosaur clone girl (just why?) and whatever the hell this new xenomorph/rancor/t-rex thing is called. It's one (not the only) of the reasons why none of these last three movies have been any fun to begin with.

The cartoon shows, on the other hand, have still occassionally used the idea - because they kind of have to being directly attached to the movies - yet they mostly focus on the dinosaurs as animals rather than monsters and the characters as actual people rather than generic action stereotypes and they're a million times more entertaining because of it.

Er, no, the point was "life finds a way [to be chaotic]." Malcolm predicted the park was too complex and volatile to function for long. Ironically, the "unreal," frog-augmented dino DNA made the animals more real, not less, in that they sped up the chaos process.

edit: ninja'd :p

Contrary to what Jurassic World would have you believe, no one would go to Jurassic Park to see made up dinosaurs, they want to see the ones they read about as kids. Give us a movie with lots of herbivore action!

Nope, apparently while they are on the island a man and his family shipwreck on that same island

Why do there always have to be kids in these fricking movies

My son is huge into the Jurassic World/Park universe so I've seen them all many times

Everything after the first Jurassic Park movie has sucked and it's sucked really badly with the Jurassic World trilogy taking the suck up to a significant level of suckiness

If you have time read these, they're great:

Hopefully this new one is a bit better (the director is actually great, Rogue One and the first Godzilla are awesome) but I just can't get my hopes up when the last movie in this franchise was Jurassic World: Dominion and the Huge Locusts That Were Pointless

Looks like fun, but IMO cutting down the dinosaurs to such a limited area is one of the absolute dumbest things they've done with franchise. I've been dying for a movie that really went all in with the concept of dinosaurs having gotten free and spread out all over the world after Fallen Kingdom, and now it looks like we're never going to get that. Dominion started with a little of it, but then focused on that whole locust thing instead for most of the movie.
