FYI for Canadian Trek fans. Cineplex Theatres will be playing Star Trek The Motion Picture, Star Trek II, IV and VI over the course of September in limited release as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations.

Cool. But my two favourites are missing.

Unfortunately a pretty limited number of theatres.

I do like when they bring back old movies though, if only it occurred outside the major cities. That 80's sci - fi thing Space put on in Cineplex last year (maybe this past winter?) was a fantastic line up, but, again, only played in major cities.

Toronto is only playing the motion picture none of the others. I was hoping to at least see Wrath on the big screen.

I've never seen my favourite TOS movie, TWOK, in a theatre. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like any theatres in my city are participating, so I guess that's not going to change any time soon!

ETA: Since there's such a small set of theatres participating, I thought I'd list them here to save people needing to check the Cineplex site if they don't live in one of these cities:

• The Park Theatre, Vancouver, BC
• Eau Claire Market Cinemas, Calgary, AB
• Cineplex Cinemas Park Lane, Halifax, NS
• Cineplex Cinemas Yonge-Dundas, Toronto, ON
• South Keys Cinemas, Ottawa, ON

Not all theatres appear to be showing all four movies.

It's to bad 3 wasn't part of the lineup. It would be neat to see the trilogy on screen.
