The connection is the supernova and events Spock Prime showed Jim in the mind-meld sequence. That all occurs between Nemesis and Picard.
It depends on how you define connection. Pedantic, but technically the Countdown comic and the supernova do not occur in the Kelvin universe. So there's a connection between Star Trek Picard and the movie Star Trek? Because apparently a poster was claiming that I didn't get it right in my first post which I in return was questioned the poster!

LOL!!! So, there's a connection between Star Trek Picard and the movie Star Trek where the Spock Prime, NOT FROM TOS, mind melded with Kirk of the supernova and events?
Did my original post mentioned Star Trek Picard occurred in the movie Star Trek???It depends on how you define connection. Pedantic, but technically the Countdown comic and the supernova do not occur in the Kelvin universe.

As I said, it depends on how one defines connection. Perhaps the poster assumed that connection meant occurred. It sounds like a miscommunication more than anything else. Certainly not worth a fuss...Did my original post mentioned Star Trek Picard occurred in the movie Star Trek???

Ok. So the uniform the crewman is wearing resemble the prequel comic book "Countdown" which was a precursor to Star Trek, done by the makers of Star Trek... where Nero journeyed to the JJverse to cast his revenge because of the fallout from the destruction of Romulus... but there's no connection?
Wonderfully put. Sigh. So... there is a connection between Star Trek Picard and the movie Star Trek.
To put this in Back to the Future terms: Pretend 2387 is 2015. In "2015", Nero went back in time. Pretend 2233 is 1955. Nero/Biff created in Alternate Timeline. At some point after the alternate "1955", Nero destroyed the alternate Vulcan.
Romulus was destroyed in the "real" 2387 (just go with it). Vulcan was destroyed in the "alternate" 2258. Star Trek: Picard takes place in the "real" 2399.
In the "real" 2399, Romulus was was destroyed and Vulcan is still around.
It is an open forum and I am offering a different POV. Certainly this is not one that requires ire being raised, especially if it was a miscommunication.I think it would be best not to assume and allow the poster to speak for himself, since he made the response to me originally and I in returned responded.
Sooooooo, in your mind, Star Trek Picard does not have a connection with the movie Star Trek???They're the Star Trek Online uniforms, which is set just after 2400. The series starts in 2399, we've seen All Good Things commbadges and now early versions of the games uniform design, it has nothing to do with the Kelvin universe.

They're asking if there is a connection to the movie, not the universe. They're the Star Trek Online uniforms, which is set just after 2400. Of course you are but he seems to add things which doesn't dispute my original post which from what we've seen is obvious there's a connection between Star Trek Picard and the movie Star Trek.It is an open forum and I am offering a different POV. They're asking if there is a connection to the movie, not the universe.
The destruction of Romulus comes from the movie, so that is a connection.
Read all their posts on this page, that's what they were asking. It's pretty clear.Uh huh.
They're asking if there is a connection to the movie, not the universe.

It depends on their POV is my only point. It is not readily apparent what type of connection was implied in the initial post, which may have caused the dispute.Of course you are but he seems to add things which doesn't dispute my original post which from what we've seen is obvious there's a connection between Star Trek Picard and the movie Star Trek.
