Elite Force free download

That's the RPG-X mod running. I'm thinking you accidentally opened the game using the RPG-X shortcut, as this would start the game with the mod already loaded. Make sure you're clicking the file called "stvoy" if you want the regular single player.

Is there anything special that needed to be downloaded to get the original single player game going? I downloaded and installed both zip files that were available to folks not registered with the UFP group and neither one appears to have the single player on it. One has the original holomatch game, and the other one is the their RPG. Is there something I'm missing?

Yeah, bad news there. I just checked their forum and it turns out they aren't including the single player portion of the game at all. A bit misleading on their part. They went on about how you can download EF for free, but neglected to make it clear that what they are offering is only actually half the game. They even included images from the SP campaign in the newsletter.

So sorry folks, if you want the SP portion of the game you will still have to pay for it. :(

That's terrible news! I apologize for not checking this myself before posting this thread. I didn't bother because I assumed they would include single player, and because I have an original copy of the game.

Sorry guys, we wanted to include the single player portion but we were unable to get it working without a CD on Windows Vista/7. All the singleplayer files are there, we just removed the executable as it was causing crashing.
