EA Confirm Command & Conquer 4

Re: EA Confirm Command & Conquer 4 (BULLSHIT DRM ITT)

I suppose this is like people who played Diablo online singleplayer so that they could have a character on the server that was persistent and "counted". I guess it's a question of how the persistence works though - maybe you need to unlock upgrades or units or something.

Re: EA Confirm Command & Conquer 4 (BULLSHIT DRM ITT)

I enjoyed C&C3 (except for the "dumb luck" missions :scream: )

Such as? I've been playing C&C 3 lately (almost done with the Nod campaign of Kane's Wrath), and I don't really know what you mean by that.

The biggest example I can think of is Nod's Operation Stilleto in the original C&C3. It's the one where you have the small strike force, and you need to capture several enemy bases. I found that it literally takes lucky timing to avoid the enemy tanks and troops, and that if your strike team alerts the enemy too early, then they will go straight for your other troops and the mission is over just like that. I finished the GDI campaign, but I've never finished Nod simply because I've never been able to get all the way through this mission without just giving up in frustration.

There's nothing like the gastrointestinal distress that can be only caused by Dave's Insanity Sauce.

Or by ridiculous "must be connected to the Internet to play a single-player game" bullshit, I suppose.

The worst part is that I will probably still buy it. Just to be a completist, I guess. I've stuck with the franchise for so long now I need to finish it. Bastards...

I would, I really would, but as a result of work I'm on the road for a little less than half the year. If I can't play a particular game while I'm sitting in an airplane seat or in a railroad car ... well, shoot. No way am I buying a game that I can only play when I'm at the office.

I think there may be a lack of cultural understanding here - as far as what "on the sauce" means, anyway. :)

I think if you don't STFU with this line of trolling, I will drop kick you off the board.

Take that as a warning. And I don't want to hear ONE WORD about THIS post. Just take it as unfriendly advice.

What ? Are you talking to me ? What the hell did I do ?

I just used Wikipedia to remind myself which mission that was----yeah, it's tough. Not because of what you have to do, but because the GDI and Scrin bases are fighting each other, and you have to keep all four construction yards intact.

Basically it comes down to a need to capture either one Scrin or GDI base entirely before they "notice" you. And you have to do it without killing enough of their power plants to leave the other base defenseless.

Once you've got a working base, you need to build up enough of a force to interdict armies from the winning side and prevent them from taking out the CY of their enemy.

One common strategy is to take the GDI base in the southwest first, then rush up and capture the one in the northwest before it's overrun. At that point it's a standard GDI vs Scrin fight.

Re: EA Confirm Command & Conquer 4 (BULLSHIT DRM ITT)

C&C has been stupid ever since Red Alert 2. The only reason RA3 was any good was because of the coop. I say no thanks to crapfest No. 4

Just watched the - teaser? - trailer for C&C4, I'm guessing that's supposed to be the Tacitus Kane's holding near the end of it? If so, it's had a makeover since TS. I guess the GDI ending of Firestorm has been decanonised, unless the Tacitus made an appearance in C&C3 or Kane's Wrath and I've forgotten it did

The Tacitus is a pretty big part of the last few missions of the Kane's Wrath NOD campaign ;)

It did indeed. At the end of Kane's Wrath the Tacitus is in Kane's possession thanks to the efforts of LEGION - the new version of CABAL from Firestorm and the player character in the single player campaign. LEGION acquires it and uses it to fulfill its purpose - transferring itself to what the Scrin call the "Ichor Hub". It remains unclear what or where that is.

It is also revealed that the Tacitus may not be a Scrin artifact, having simply been in their possession inside the crashed ship in C&C2.
