Do most Trek fiction collectors buy non-fiction titles too?

Yep. I kind of liked season three of Enterprise in the sense that they were finally trying to do something new and different, but the subtext of season three was not exactly in keeping with the supposed traditional liberal/humanist ideals of Star Trek.

As for the title, "Retrofitting" may sound unnecessarily technojargony, but it may be a tip o' the hat to the classic Retrofitting Blade Runner anthology of critical papers.

I'd say it was, because Archer et al. eventually turned their back on their initial vengeful intentions and worked to understand and make peace with their apparent enemies. Well, the warm-blooded ones, anyway.
