Did voyager ever have a decent holodeck malfunction epsiode?

I can't recall a good one. Just lots of stinkers. Not that there were many good holodeck malfunction episodes in the other spin off series either- but I can remember them!

The only holodeck episodes I absolutely HATED were those stupid "Flotter" adventures. I can't believe that 24th century kids actually think crap like that is fun?

^why not? Flotter's better than those talking veggie videos my youngest cousins used to watch when they were little. These are probably still being watched by little kids these days.

I'd go with Worst Case Scenario. It's probably the most plausable one ever, since one shouldn't leave it past Seska to do something like this.

That's ironic because I thought Worst Case Scenario was quite a good episode up until the holodeck malfunction. A standard shoot em up was not a satisfying conclusion to a story that played with our sense of what was going on all episode. The whole Seska thing really strained credibility as well.

exactly. while voyager had at least a couple of decent holodeck episodes, the ones by tng were a mess alltogether. shrunken rikers, 1930 bums, and a wild-eyed moriartry.

Little kids watch stupid things. I really don't think that's ever going to change.

And spongebob is any better?

I don't remember the title, but the one I liked alot was with the Hirogen when they took over the ship and were running WWII scenarios on the holodeck.

I did really like Projections. The idea (however implausible) that the Doctor was actually a real human on Jupiter Station who's been caught up in his own work that he thinks he's a hologram on a lost starship was kinda cool.

I do remember seeing the trailer and seeing Barclay and getting excited, hoping that it turned out he was lost in the Delta Quadrant too :(

Because TNG had already used all of the good ideas....and much of Voyager was recycled TNG :lol::lol:

But... but Bride of Chaotica! You gotta admire how retro they just went with that.

Worst Case Scenario was also fun. And Killing Game does that whole special two-parter thing quite well.

But the best was Projections. I think it was the first real Doctor episode. Sure there was Heroes and Demons but that was too painful to watch. Projections had all those fun twists and surreal quality (for some reason Voyager really likes to play with surreal now and then).

Voyager actually does holodeck quite well. I also found that Samantha Wildman holodeck episode to be rather sweet, though that isn't exactly malfunction.

I loved the end of "Projections", when we see the Doc stick his arm out of the sickbay doors, just to make sure his hand disappeared. :-) Also, we got to see that Kes had a streak of the evil in her, when she asked him if he was "sure" it was all a dream.

What's so wrong with Moriarty? I always thought that his two episodes were the best of the holodeck malfunction ones.

Then again, I never had problems with the "holodeck malfunction" genre anyway. I'd rather have that then the crew constantly finding planets that resemble a period of Earth's history down to a tee.

As for Voyager, Worst Case Scenario is easily the best.
