Yes, really. Marvel didn't invent that phrase.
Was the first Deadpool movie as strange as this one seems to be?
The transformation to Deadpool doesn't leave him the most um, sane and his restorative powers let him get away with not being the most sensible of sorts and the comic and movie make a point to break the fourth wall on a regular basis.
It was definitely strange. It also doesn't hold up particularly well to repeat viewings (a good portion of the humor relies on getting a "what the Christ" shock reaction from the audience, so once that shock wears off many of the jokes don't land as well).
Ryan Reynolds took shots at DC in the first movie as well.

I liked the film so-so, but I don't think there needs to be another.

Actually, it's FOX.
If nothing else, Deadpool 2 is the last X-Men related film FOX makes that could possibly be good, assuming its sale to Disney goes through, so I'm still interested. Even though they've royally screwed up with Domino, I'm hoping they at least got Deadpool/Cable and the overall story right.
