DEADPOOL 2 Movie Anticipation Thread

Ha, I missed that as well and I've watched it several times over!

It's weird the online version is slightly longer. Why would the theatrical version cut out Stan Lee?

"St Elmo's Fire" also replaced "Just call me Angel" in the beginning and after Deadpool exits the phone booth.

The cinema version had the superman theme playing as Deadpool exits the phonebooth

Wasn't Lang kind of old for the part?

To be fair, Cable is supposed to be kind of old (his grey/silver hair is from age, not some weird comic book reason). I mean, he's really buff, and he's also a time traveler with some technoorganic upgrades so he's probably not even middle aged from a "how long until he dies of old age" standpoint, but various comics have shown him age through child years, as a teen, and into his 20s, 30s, etc in various flashbacks. I've always assumed he was, at youngest, mid fifties (although, like I said, how far along he is in his total life time could be anywhere from middle age to many decades left before he'd die of old age).

I figured the movie would go a bit younger, but a buff 64 year old wouldn't be too weird for Cable in my opinion.

Pity he's wasting his time with the Avatar films instead of doing this film.

Yeah, especially since Avatar 2 got delayed again. I wonder if that's what has changed his schedule. Its going to suck if the avatar sequels keep getting delayed (which I think has been the case for a long time) past when Deadpool 2 films, or maybe even past when it comes out given Avatar's track record and we'll have lost the chance (it wasn't a sure thing at all, but there was a chance) for nothing.

That's exactly what I expect.

"Drops out" doesn't seem very accurate, seeing as he was never officially up for the role in the first place.

Exactly, seems a bit weird to me. It either means he was in negotiations and dropped out of those, or he was infact cast but nothing was made official yet. However, if the last part was the case, why would they now announce he dropped out?
I think someone got a bit confused somewhere and made a mistake when writing that article.

All the article said was that he took his name out of the running. It sounds like he was trying to get the part, but can't now. The tweet sounded to me more like he was letting his fans know it wasn't going to happen, than making any kind of official announcement.
