College Football 2022

Yeah Caleb Williams was hurt from the second quarter on. He made a game effort of it.

In the end USC’s defense isn’t good enough to go all the way. Hopefully we’ll go to a decent bowl and enjoy the best season we’ve had in many years.

With Williams coming back next year, our offense should be great again. Hopefully we get some goddamned defense for next season.

USC crapped the bed. Who moves up to No. 4? Has to be Ohio State.
If only because OSU is the golden child of CFB, sure.

Remember 2020, when other teams had played 2-3 games and OSU hadn't played at all due to COVID, and yet somehow OSU was ranked at all?

Well OSU is a one-loss team. Notre Dame is the school that could go 0-12 and be in the preseason Top 25 the next season.

Looks like TCU could lose, so that means two changes in the final four, with a two-loss team moving up. And other two-loss teams losing their minds that it's not them.

I swear to god if Alabama backs their way into the fucking playoff after 2 losses over a one-loss TCU that's some bullshit. Or over 2-loss USC frankly.

Sure, they lost their title games but Alabama didn't even play for one. Either K-State or Utah should be in the playoffs before Alabama (or sadly my own Tennessee).

Frankly OSU shouldn't get the benefit of moving up either, but at least they only lost a single game (but again didn't play in a title game so shouldn't pass TCU).

UGA is determined not to allow the third upset. MICH and CLEM yet to come.

ETA: Clemson took care of business, MICH was having some trouble with Purdue, but should be able to hold them off now.

It's just that the BCS is so enamored with Alabama...I hope TCU still gets to go, but I would not be surprised if Alabama jumps them.

Looks like USC vs Tulane in the Cotton Bowl. I don't think we've ever played them before.

Mike Leach hospitalized. No official specifics, other than he's in "critical condition" after suffering a "personal health issue." But the rumors are that he suffered a massive heart attack and did not receive medical attention for 10-15 minutes, and that the hospital has transitioned him to comfort care at this point. :(

Anyone watch the Celebration Bowl? TE who rarely gets the ball drops the potential-tying touchdown in the end zone in overtime, Jackson State loses one play later. That's gonna bother him for a while.

As a little kid, it surprised me that the armed forces teams didn’t beat everyone else—they’re military, right?
And militaries always win...?

Also, strangely, they frown on shooting the opposition in collegiate athletics. I know, I know, I was surprised too...
